Borderless Friends Forever

Borderless Friends Forever The mission of Borderless Friends Forever is to connect people through educational and cultural prog It made me see my world with a fresh perspective.

Borderless Friends Forever is an organization developed from my own personal passion for international education. In August of 2006 my life changed forever when my family and I decided to host Karolin from Germany. Little did I know at that time, but my journey was about to take an unexpected turn. Karolin brought with her something very special that changed me. It wasn't a gift that I needed to o

pen, but rather one to which I needed to be open. She came with a curiosity and an excitement that renewed the world around me. Everything I did become new again because she had never seen it, done it, heard it, or tasted it. Even a trip to the grocery store suddenly seemed exciting! With this excitement came possibility. I became intrigued by the host family / exchange student relationship. Letting our sweet KK go back to Germany was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. It became obvious to me that the only way to survive that "loss" was to host again - enter Christopher, also from Germany. Again, a lovely experience, albeit different. Chris is an amazing young man, with much to offer to the world and taught me so much about myself. Did you know that, Chris? Well, I was hooked, and my family has graciously jumped on board with my passion and we have now hosted 22 exchange students. Ten of these beautiful people; Karolin, Christopher, Mon, Kike, Noemi, John, Seung Ju, Nora, Yvan, and Rubens have been with us for an entire school year, while many others were here for a short-term program. I have been infinitely blessed by these kids and I am eternally grateful that their families shared them with me! During this time of my own personal journey, I have helped many families have the same experience and have helped create relationships that I know will last a lifetime. Just like I have been infinitely blessed with my own students, I have been blessed to be put in the path of so many wonderful host families who have opened their hearts and homes to students over these last 8 years. The generosity, love, and grace of these individuals never ceases to amaze me! It's the kind of generosity that truly opens one's heart and soul to help a child experience a life-changing time, even though they may not always see it that way at the moment. It's the kind of love that allows you to truly love another mother's child as your own, knowing that you have to return them. It's the kind of grace that allows forgiveness in those times where perhaps it would be easier to quit. This generosity, this love, this grace is what is helping us build bridges across cultures and truly opens the world up to more possibility for peace. For these families that are willing and able to add to our mission, I am eternally grateful! In addition to all of the wonderful students and families that have touched my lives, I have been equally blessed to know a team of dedicated people who are constantly striving to ensure the safety and well-being of these exchanges. These folks are tirelessly dedicated to their students and host families. They understand our mission, they believe in what we do and they are proud to be a part of this unique experience. I am proud to know them and even more proud to call them part of my team! It is this passion, created by this beautiful journey which has allowed me the opportunity to start Borderless Friends Forever. I am extremely excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. I know that we will continue to passionately create life-changing experiences for all involved! Sincerely,

Crystal Allis
Executive Director

Today, we join in celebrating Juneteenth at Borderless Friends Forever. ❤️🖤💚

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States learned they were free. This happened more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

At Borderless Friends Forever, we are committed to cultural exchange, understanding, and global friendship. By learning together, having open conversations, and appreciating different cultures, we can help build a world based on respect, empathy, and unity.

Happy Juneteenth from everyone at Borderless Friends Forever!

🥊🇪🇸 Meet Valeria from Spain! 🇪🇸🥊

Valeria is looking for a host family for the upcoming school year. Valeria has an adventurous spirit and a passion for boxing.

Valeria trains in kickboxing 2 days a week. She loves challenging herself through sports. The discipline, determination, and confidence she has developed through boxing have helped shape her into a mature and responsible young woman. Whether your family is involved in combat sports, athletics, or simply values an active lifestyle, Valeria would love to share that part of her life with you.

When she's not in the gym, Valeria enjoys dancing, cooking, shopping with friends, and spending time with family. She especially loves cooking for others. Her favorite dish to make? Pasta carbonara! 🍝

Valeria has dreamed of spending a year in the United States since she was a little girl. Could your family be the one to make Valeria's dream come true?

🌍 Which country do you hope to explore one day?

When you host with Borderless Friends Forever, you have the unique opportunity to experience another culture firsthand without ever leaving your home.

Our remaining 28 exchange students are looking for welcoming families to share in this life-changing adventure. By opening your home, you'll introduce a student to American culture, traditions, and family life, while they share their own customs, language, and perspective with you.

The friendships, memories, and cultural connections you build can last a lifetime.

Could your family be the one that changes a student's life, and your own? ❤️

This year, the Wilch family hosted two exchange students: Said from Ecuador and Alex from the Czech Republic. As their exchange year came to a close, both students' families traveled to Colorado Springs, creating a rare and meaningful opportunity for everyone to celebrate together.

Host mom Amy W. reflected on the experience:

"A week of ups and downs... meeting our Czech son's family and our Ecuador son's family, celebrating together with extended family, three different languages with some charades to help communicate, bittersweet goodbyes and a last-time group hug for the 4 of us who lived in this house together.

This is life: ups and downs, meaningful experiences, stretching and growing, expanding our family yet again. We are all richer because of this wonderful thing called being a host family."

Moments like these remind us that hosting is about so much more than a school year. It creates lifelong connections that span countries, cultures, and generations. Thank you to the Wilch family for opening their home and heart to these teens and their families.

Why Host Purevjargal?

Purevjargal is from Mongolia. She has a rich culture she is eager to share with her future family. She is thoughtful, respectful, and independent. Growing up in the countryside with her grandparents helped her develop maturity, self-reliance, and a strong appreciation for family values from a young age.

While she may be a little shy when first meeting new people, she quickly adapts to new environments and enjoys building meaningful relationships.

Purevjargal is a great student for a family looking for an independent, mature teen! She has been a leader in different roles, including class president at her school.

She enjoys nature, playing volleyball, and drawing. I feel like she has a ton of diverse interests and would love to get involved at school.
