Hi Communities of Cary, Fox River Grove, Oakwood Hills and Trout Valley!
It is a brand new year 2023! We are finally back after years of working behind the scenes without fail towards preserving our exciting incredible local history! We have not billed any of our loyal members dues during Covid years as we did not and werenât able to meet therefore we need to kick start our membership drive and collect dues! Please mail in or we can bill you! Unfortunately the Cary Grove Historical Society recently (this year) had to forgo our PO Box at Cary Post Office (so no PO Box 483 anymore) due to escalating fees for non profits-we just plain and simple do not have the funds to pay for it any more@frankly fees are insane! Please mail all payments made out to The Cary Grove Historical Society and mail to 335 Wooded Knoll Drive Cary IL 60013 it will get to the right people at the Cary Grove Historical Society! Thank you very much for your understanding!
Quick update regarding this year 2023-we will be celebrating the 130th celebration of our wonderful townâs incorporation as Cary IL est 1893!
As my contribution as President and Founder , Pam Losey I wrote a childrenâs book entitled âCary Onâ to be available in September this year! This book is a passion project for me as a servant of the Cary community and I am happy to share it and sell it for all those interested! It tells who exactly William Dennison Cary was and his importance to our Community! The 2nd-3rd graders in our community have a unit where they learn their\our local history and there is never been a source for Wm Cary history-hence I created one! I will make the book available to local libraries etc! Or you may purchase for your family to share! Cost to be determined but I can tell you that I will be donating part of the profit back to the Cary Grove Historical Society. I am funding the book myself no funds from the Cary Grove Historical Society will be used. I am very proud and excited to present this childrenâs book later this year! I plan on involving members to help read th book to various organizations!
Keep in touch!
Best regards
Pam Losey
