* Developing relationships with community and business leaders. Through Rotary's service programs, a Rotary club can have a significant effect on the quality of life in its community. Rotary Foundation programs offer opportunities to form international partnerships that help people in need worldwide.

We had the pleasure of hearing from our very own Bella Huang today at our meeting! 🌟

She shared valuable insights on how revenue resources like sports, sales tax, and property tax are fueling investments in public safety. With a 60% increase in population and no change in the police force, and fire stations costing over $2 million each (with a shortage especially in west Cary), her talk shed light on the challenges and opportunities in our growing community.

Always good to hear what is going on in our community, and see the people who are making it happen!

I was very pleased to meet the members of the Rotary Club Wiesbaden Rhein Main and present our club’s flag to President Dr. Begüm Karakaş Bilimer. Catching you up on our most recent speakers at our lunch meetings! From the woman who gave us Charlie Burnette, we heard a part of this family’s story of resilience, love and strength. Karee White wrote a book about the legacy of her family that led her to create the I Love Everyone Foundation.

Rick Carnagua also joined us this week to discuss the upcoming Dominican Republic Project early next year. This is a great collaboration between some of our clubs to build houses in the DR!

Had an awesome time volunteering for the Raleigh City Farm! Helped to w**d and clean up the berry patch and then after purchased some delicious produce from their stand! The Raleigh City Farm is “pay what you can” and often donates to organizations that support our neighbors with food insecurity! What an awesome night for our IMPACT Club meeting!

Thank you Kristy Andrews and Bob Burton for coming to speak with us about HBOT therapies and how HBOT4Heroes is helping veterans with access to these treatments! Treating PTSD and TBI is important to prevent su***de in the veteran community!

We were pleased to have Carissa Kohn-Johnson from Cary Town Council join us for our first meeting of the Rotary year! She spoke to us specifically about all the work the town council is doing to provide resources and expand services to people in our community that age out of foster care programs, but still lack a social safety net to help them transition into independence. With Cary MacGregor Rotarian and fellow council member Bella Huang by her side, these ladies are making things happen to ensure that Cary is supporting solutions for our most vulnerable young people!

The best dang Rotary Club in the cosmos celebrated the beginning of a new Rotary year at the lovely Matthews House! The Installation Banquet had great food and even better fellowship as we passed the torch to a new leader and renewed our commitment to service and community! Thank you so much to Warren Young for his service this last year and all the members of the Board. Thank you to Paul Harris Fellowship recipients and families! Congratulations to Al Wetherell for receiving recognition as the Rotarian of the Year! We appreciate all that you do!

Great year ahead of us and glad we are in this together!
