PORCH-WesternWake

PORCH-WesternWake Participation is as simple as leaving your donations on your front porch on a designated date. We are always looking to add new donors and new neighborhoods.

We are a non-profit local grass-roots hunger relief program that organizes monthly collections of non-perishable food goods for distribution to local families in need We will come by, collect your donations and make sure it gets to those in need. And of course, it is entirely up to you how much you donate and how often you participate. If you are interested in donating or learning more about our organization please email us at [email protected].

A big shout out and thank you to all the anonymous and known donors who braved the freezing cold temperatures this weekend to bring much-needed staples to Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Your actions are truly appreciated and do not go unnoticed! πŸ™ŒπŸ‘

Our May "sort" was wonderful! We collected over 1,400 pounds of non perishable food and personal care items. Charli's Angels came to help with the sort and packing, as always rays of sunshine from Zeta Phi Beta Soroity.

Our 10 year anniversary proved to be both fun and exciting. We were able to give to Dorcas of Cary, National Guard Family Programs and for the firs time since the pandemic began we'll be making a delivery to InterAct. Thank you so much for all of your support and love for the last 10 years.

Although we are going through a pandemic there is still so much to be thankful for in our lives. Our PORCH-WesternWake warriors (coordinators and donors) have managed to send over 1400 pounds of nonperishable food and personal care items during the month of November. So thankful to be in the company of these people that tirelessly, month after month, year after year continue to fight food insecurities one can at a time. Thank you to all of our network family for the amazing spirit you show. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Our September sort netted over 1,184 pounds of nonperishable food and personal care items. Thank you to our network of coordinators and donors. Although Charli's Angels from the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority are unable to join in the sort due to COVID, they still LOVE PORCH-WesternWake and did a food drive to support our quest to stamp out food insecurities. Thank you Angels!!!!!

Our June sort was a good one, we collected 1174.0 pounds.!!! Thank you to our donor network and the coordinators for your love, support and donations.

Due to this pandemic, which seems to be hanging on forever, we were asked to help Meals On Wheels of Wake County. Their representative Stephanie Thrum came to our sort on Saturday and helped pack up and weigh our donations to them. What a delight it was to meet her and hear more about the amazing work Meals On Wheels does in Wake County, serving over a thousand people.

As is always the case we are grateful to everyone participating in this fight to arrest hunger and promote well being in our area.

On a side note, we miss our "Charli's Angels" of the Zigma Rho Zeta Sorority. We hope to be able to work with you all soon. Stay safe and well.
