Lazy Saturday plans? We have a better idea. ☀️💚💙

We know Saturdays are lazy days for some, but today is worth getting those steps in! 👟

The Carying Place is at the 50th annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival in Downtown Cary TODAY ONLY, and we’d love for you to come see us.

Take a break from the laundry. Netflix will still be there later. Get those steps in, wander through the art, grab something good to eat, enjoy the live entertainment, and stop by our booth to say hello!

A major investment in Morrisville means new opportunities for local families. 💚💙

The Carying Place was proud to join Forge Nano 🔋for the groundbreaking of its Gigafactory expansion, a project expected to bring 200–250 jobs to the area.

Job growth means more than numbers. It means stronger local opportunities, greater economic mobility, and more ways for people across our community to strengthen their financial futures.

Affordable housing takes a village, and M/I Homes, Inc. just became part of ours. 🏡💚

We had a wonderful time celebrating with M/I Homes, Inc. at their Benefit Home vendor event, where proceeds support Pelotonia, Make-A-Wish America and The Carying Place.

We’re especially excited to welcome M/I Homes, Inc. as a major donor to The Carr Center, our planned mixed-use development that will bring affordable housing and holistic community care together.

This marks the first year of our partnership, and we’re grateful to have M/I Homes, Inc. investing alongside us in the future of working families in our community.

There’s something extra special about a gift made with care. 💚

A huge thank you to Girl Scout Maggie Ackiss for creating and delivering self-care bags for the teens we serve. 🎨📓

Each bag includes hygiene essentials, journals, art supplies, comfort items, and other thoughtful touches designed to support emotional well-being and offer a little extra encouragement.

We’ll be sharing the bags with our teens throughout the year during our Thursday program sessions, giving Maggie’s kindness a chance to make an impact again and again.

It’s Scouts like Maggie who remind us how much of a difference thoughtful, hands-on generosity makes. Thank you, Maggie, for caring about our teens and finding such a meaningful way to support them. 💙

Strong communities show up for families when it matters most. 💙💚

The Carying Place and recently hosted a Back-to-School Bash🍎✏️📚, helping 250 local children start the school year prepared and confident.

Kids picked out their backpacks, and the school supplies they need for the year ahead. They also had time to play on a game truck and a bouncy house, and enjoy an ice cream truck.🍦🚚

Thanks to the wonderful volunteers from WakeMed Health & Hospitals and the National Charity League, Inc., Carolina Lily Chapter, and to the supporters who made the day possible by donating new backpacks and school supplies.

We’re so grateful for our partnership with First Cary UMC and for everyone who helped make back-to-school season a little easier for families in our community.

A generous gift. A shared commitment to helping working families build a more stable future. 🏡💚

We are incredibly grateful to Coastal Credit Union for a $25,000 grant supporting The Carying Place’s Journey Home program.

Their support helps us continue walking alongside working families experiencing homelessness as they work toward lasting housing stability.

We are also excited about Coastal’s willingness to share their financial expertise with our families through future financial literacy education.
