This Teacher Appreciation Week, we asked our Education Managers a few questions about their role here at CORRAL ❤️ Here's what they had to say....
- Shelby Edmond, Raleigh Campus:
I didn't just wake up one day and decide to become a teacher. It kind of grew on me over time. I've always been drawn to people, especially young people, and to those moments when something clicks for them. Seeing someone go from "I don't get it" to "wait… I can do this" is powerful. That shift when confidence starts to replace doubt is what inspired me. I realized I wanted to be part of creating more of those moments.
What keeps me going each day is the relationships. It's not just about lessons or grades, it's about the students. Every day is a chance to show up, to listen, to encourage, to remind them they're capable, even when they don't believe it yet. Some days are harder than others, but knowing that I might be the steady, positive presence someone needs is what motivates me to keep showing up and giving my best.
- Kathryn Weber, Cary Campus:
I became a teacher because I wanted to make a lasting impact on the children I work with, especially those facing adversity and challenges in their lives. I wanted to be a consistent, supportive figure, even across different walks of life. Twenty years later, my mission is still the same. It just looks a little different now, working on a horse farm instead of in a classroom! I love what I do. I love being an advocate for our teens and seeing them grow, thrive, and accomplish their goals.
