It's National Customer Service Week and we've been celebrating our staff extra hard each day! Superhero Sunday, Team Tuesday, and Wacky Wednesday are just some of the themes we've been enjoying. 🎉

Whether we are answering NC 211 calls, maintaining our Community Resource Directory, supporting quality and training, navigating clients through complex systems, managing programs, providing administrative support, or working behind the scenes to keep everything moving—our staff is an important part of mission here at United Way of NC. ✨

We thank our staff for everything they do every day. We would not be an organization and an impact on this state without them. 💙

Our Director of Mission Advancement Sally Gordon paid a visit to United Way of Alamance County for their ALICE Reality Simulation event! Joining and speaking to the participants was Sam Baker, Executive Director of United Way of Randolph County.

The Simulation showed participants just how easy it is to run out of money early in the month spending on rent, utilities, car payments, groceries, child care, and other basics. Even as a hard working individual or family, they might not be paid enough to afford these basic needs and often fall short or are living paycheck to paycheck.

In fact, 41% of North Carolinians are below the ALICE Threshold and are one big purchase away from financial crisis. To learn more about the ALICE population and how you can make a change for either yourself or community members in need, visit unitedwaync.org/alice-north-carolina

And to see what UW of Alamance and of Randolph Counties are doing for ALICE, visit uwalamance.org/ and uwrandolph.org/
