🏍️ Weekend Wrap-Up | NC 15-6 at Angier Bike Fest 🏍️

This past weekend, members of CVMA® NC 15-6 proudly supported the 25th Annual Angier Bike Fest, joining hundreds of riders, vendors, volunteers, and supporters from across North Carolina and beyond for a great cause.

Throughout the weekend, our members could be found enjoying the festivities, supporting vendors, connecting with fellow riders, and representing the values of our Association. From Bike Night and live music to the bike show, Rally & Ride, and countless opportunities for fellowship, the event showcased what makes the motorcycle community so special: people coming together to support something bigger than themselves.

Events like Angier Bike Fest remind us that motorcycles are more than machines. They are a vehicle for service, community, and giving back. We are grateful to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and all who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this year's event another success.

To everyone who stopped by to say hello, rode alongside us, or simply shared a handshake and a story, thank you. We are stronger together.

As always, NC 15-6 remains committed to our mission of Vets Helping Vets while supporting our local communities wherever the road takes us.

D-DAY REMEMBRANCE | 6 JUNE 1944

Today we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

In the early hours of that day, thousands of young men crossed the English Channel knowing many would never return home. They stepped from landing craft into cold water, machine-gun fire, and uncertainty, carrying with them the hopes of a free world.

Some never made it off the beach.

Some fought through fear and chaos to secure a foothold in France.

All became part of one of the most significant moments in modern history.

The freedom enjoyed by millions today was purchased at a tremendous cost by a generation willing to place duty above self. Their courage reminds us that liberty is never free and that every generation bears the responsibility of preserving it
As the years pass and fewer veterans remain to tell their stories, it becomes even more important that we remember them, speak their names, and pass their legacy to those who follow.

"When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today."

On this 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we honor the fallen, the survivors, and all who answered the call.

We will never forget.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave, in the words of President Abraham Lincoln, “the last full measure of devotion” in service to our nation.
From the fields of the Revolutionary War to the mountains of Afghanistan and the deserts of Iraq, more than 1.3 million Americans have died wearing the uniform of this country.
Each one was more than a statistic. They were sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends.
Behind every name etched into stone or folded into a flag is a story interrupted. Dreams left unfinished. Families forever changed. And long after the ceremonies end and the uniforms are folded away, empty spaces remain behind at dinner tables, in family photos, in quiet houses, and in the hearts of those who still reach for voices they can no longer hear.
In the Civil War alone, more than 620,000 Americans perished, still the deadliest conflict in our nation’s history. World War I claimed over 116,000 lives. World War II over 405,000. Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and the post-9/11 conflicts added thousands more to the roll of the fallen.
These are not distant numbers from history books. They are Americans who stood in the gap for others. They gave their tomorrows so future generations could have theirs.
Today, we also honor the families who continue to carry that sacrifice quietly every single day. Time has continued to move forward, but grief does not follow a calendar. Every holiday, every birthday, every ordinary moment can still carry the weight of who is missing. Every minute and every day, there are families and friends who still feel that loss deeply.
That is why it is so important that we tell their stories and say their names. We must pass their stories on to the next generation so they are never forgotten. Their sacrifice cannot become a footnote in history. It must live on in our conversations, our traditions, our remembrance, and in the values we teach our children.
As we remember the fallen, let us honor them not only with moments of silence, but with the way we live.
Love your people well. Serve others. Stand for something bigger than yourself. Make time for the moments that matter. Carry forward the values they fought to protect.
Let our lives, our actions, and our compassion become part of their legacy.
May we never forget those who never came home.
