From the vibrant Pookalam(intricate floral carpet) and delicious Onasadya(grand traditional vegetarian feast served on a banana leaf) to the colorful traditions and celebrations, Onam reminds us of the beauty of community and shared culture.

Hum Sub is excited to announce the **Youth Achievement Award (YAA) 2026**! 🏆

We’re looking for outstanding **middle and high school students across North Carolina** who are making a difference—whether through **community service, research & innovation, academics, art, music, dance, or sports.** 🌟

This is your chance to have your achievements recognized on a BIG stage at the **Hum Sub Diwali celebration**, in front of thousands of attendees! 🎉

💰 **Cash Prizes in TWO categories:**
🥇 1st Place — **$1,000**
🥈 2nd Place — **$500**

Hum Sub invites students to share their thoughts, memories, traditions, and reflections in our 2026 Diwali Essay Competition.

✨ Essay Prompt:
“What is the significance of Diwali in your life?”

🏆 Prizes (in each division):
🥇 1st Place: $500
🥈 2nd Place: $250

📚 Open to Middle School and High School students.

📅 Submission Deadline: September 15
