Today to highlight excellence in HBCUs we are shining the spotlight on the NBA. The NBA and NBA Foundation have commenced programs designed to create greater opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students from Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU). Those in the program would be placed into a paid, 10-week summer internship dealing with the business side of basketball. The goal is to open opportunities for the students to learn in places they normally wouldn’t thereby creating opportunities to grow and attain the highest levels in their careers. It also exposes them to different markets they haven’t been to before, thereby positioning them for it better positions, success and it equips them to take the skills back to their HBCUs and have a résumé builder they can use and lean on going forward.
