A huge thank you to our speaker this week, Taylor Duncan, for sharing the incredible journey of the Alternative Baseball Organization (ABO)! After facing rejection from the game due to preconceived notions about autism, Taylor stepped up to the plate to create a league that gives individuals ages 15+ a unique opportunity to play ball, build skills, and learn sportsmanship. Featured on ESPN and NBC's Today Show, ABO is bringing the magic to our own backyard this fall for an exhibition game at the historic Durham Athletic Park (from Bull Durham)!

Want to volunteer or cheer them on right here in the Triangle? Check out the tour schedule at https://www.alternativebaseball.org/ and help us support this phenomenal mission!

Thank you to education advocate Tom Oxholm for joining us! Tom shared why Education is Everyone's Business. With falling tax revenues leaving NC lowest in the Southeast for teacher pay and $5B to $8B behind what is needed to retain top educators, Tom emphasized that families, businesses, and investors must collectively champion public education spending to protect our community's future workforce.

Did you know that over a quarter of the 61 million seniors in the US live alone? To combat this isolation, Marie Martin shared how local non-profit Mom's Valentine for You brought holiday joy to over 800 older adults in 2026, with plans to expand to 1,500 seniors across Cary, Apex, and Morrisville for 2027. We are proud to highlight their incredible work, which also supports vital networks like Meals on Wheels-and you can help them reach their goal by visiting www.momswishingwidowswell.com to
