🌱 Little Garden Helper 🌱

Today I had the sweetest little garden helper! 💚 Kasia joined me in the garden as we picked fresh zucchini and checked on our growing watermelons. There’s nothing better than watching little hands learn where their food comes from and seeing the excitement on their face as the garden grows.

These moments remind us that we’re not just growing vegetables—we’re growing memories, curiosity, and a love for gardening that can last a lifetime. 🍉🥒💚

Thank you, Kasia, for being such an amazing helper today! 🌞🌱💕

At Lincoln University Cooperative Extension in Caruthersville, we do more than grow fresh vegetables. We come together as neighbors to learn, share, and preserve the flavors of summer so they can be enjoyed all winter long.

Yesterday’s hands on Chow Chow class was filled with learning, laughter, and teamwork as participants discovered safe food preservation techniques while creating a delicious Southern tradition to take home.

Every jar tells a story of community, knowledge, and the joy of preserving the harvest. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so memorable. We look forward to seeing you at our next food preservation class as we continue celebrating the harvest one jar at a time!

🌱 Volunteer Help Needed Today! 🌱

Good morning, everyone! We could really use your help today at 7:00 PM in the Community Garden. We’ll be harvesting bell peppers, tomatoes, squash, and zucchini.

As a thank-you, volunteers are welcome to take home tomatoes and bell peppers after we finish harvesting!

We’ll be using the squash and zucchini in our “Veggies Three Ways” cooking class this Friday from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, and we’d love to see you there as well.

Many hands make light work, and we truly need your help to get this harvest in. We don’t want any of the wonderful produce that God has blessed us with to go to waste.

We hope to see you tonight at 7:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM. Thank you all so much for supporting the Caruthersville Community Garden! 💚

The community that forms around a garden can be more valuable than the produce grown there.
