My testimony starts back in 2017. I’ll try to slim it down, because there’s a lot I could tell.
In 2017, I got into a relationship with the father of my children. On December 25, 2017, he pulled a gun on me. That began years of abuse that continued for nearly eight years. Somewhere along the way, I completely lost myself.
I finally left the relationship in 2024, but even though I had gotten out, I was still lost and broken. I started drinking heavily. I didn’t know who I was anymore, and I didn’t know where to turn. I was living however my flesh wanted me to live, trying to fill something inside of me that nothing in this world could fill.
Then something started changing.
I began feeling things in my spirit. I knew people had been praying for me because I started feeling a familiar tug—a tug from God that I once knew.
In May 2026, I went to court facing a seven-year charge, and I walked out with it dismissed. That was when I knew God was doing something in my life.
The next Wednesday, I wasn’t even planning on going to church. I hardly ever went on Wednesdays, but something inside of me kept saying, “Alexius, you need to go.”
So I went.
God used the preacher and the Word that night to speak directly to me. For the first time in YEARS, I felt God again!
And something happened that I will never forget: my mind became quiet.
For the first time since I was 12 years old, my mind wasn’t running 90 miles an hour. For about 15 years, I had struggled mentally, and since that encounter with God, I haven’t had to fight those same battles the way I once did.
And God hasn’t stopped there.
He has opened the door for me to go to nursing school. He has made a way for my record to be cleared, and I will no longer carry the label of a convicted felon.
I haven’t touched a drink in 2½ weeks.
I know I’m still a work in progress. God is still working on me, healing me, restoring me, and putting the pieces back together.
But if there is one thing I know now, it’s this:
Anything is possible with God.
I lost myself for years, but God knew exactly where I was. He heard the prayers being prayed for me, He began pulling on my heart again, and He is showing me that my past does not have to determine my future.
God isn’t finished with me yet. He’s making me whole again.
