The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will host an informational webinar to help small and mid‑size meat and poultry processors access and use market information available through USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). The session will introduce participants to a range of free AMS Market News tools that support business planning, price discovery, and marketing strategies.

The 30-minute webinar will guide processors through key datasets—including wholesale meat reports, direct‑to‑consumer pricing trends, and grocery store feature activity—highlighting how this information can be used to understand market dynamics and identify promotional opportunities.

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET. Register in advance at the link below or find the information on AAMP's Industry Calendar at https://aamp.com/events/event_list.asp

ACMC needs volunteers! Volunteers are the backbone of the ACMC, and many AAMP members faithfully assist each year. Volunteers are needed for tagging and carrying product on Thursday; assisting with judging (cutting/slicing and cooking product) and scorecard calculations on Friday; and much more. Please consider volunteering to help at this year’s ACMC! If interested, please contact Matt Wenger at [email protected].

A FSIS Small Plant Session will be held at West Texas A&M University following the AMSA Reciprocal Meat Conference on June 24.

The FSIS Small Plant Session is a complimentary, in-person program offered in conjunction with the AMSA Reciprocal Meat Conference at West Texas A&M University. Designed specifically for small and very small meat and poultry processors, this complimentary session brings together USDA experts, regulatory specialists, and business development resources in one location. Participants will gain practical insights, ask questions directly of agency representatives, and explore tools to support both compliance and business growth.

Participants will engage in hands-on demonstrations, focused educational sessions, and open question-and-answer discussions covering food safety, regulatory compliance, business resources, and plant operations. Space is limited to 75 participants.

🚨 Support for small meat and poultry processing plants is here!

Secretary Rollins today launched the Small Processors Action Plan, a new set of actions designed to make it easier for these businesses to interact with USDA, get timely answers, and resolve issues, without weakening inspection or food safety standards.

Additionally, we've announced $60M in funding through the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program to expand American meat and poultry processing. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 7, 2026.
