***SANDPAPER CHRISTIANS***

This is something I believe needs to be addressed in the church as a whole. When any of us are offended by or rubbed the wrong way by a brother or sister in the church we attend. We are so quick to leave and go somewhere else or gossip and tell the world how we were hurt by them. Not knowing that maybe God let that happen to you to mature you and smooth out some rough edges in your heart. He may be using them to teach you forgiveness and maybe teach you how to work through these circumstances so that you can teach someone else later in life how to do this! Maybe he is teaching you what not to do when you decide to minister! I call these people "Sandpaper Christians." We need to learn how to keep the unity amongst believers even when we are validated in our feelings. I'm not saying this person didn't do you wrong!! I'm saying we should do what the word of God says in the midst of it... bringing our feelings under the authority to God's word in order to restore unity instead of bailing and holding on to unforgiveness only to bring that same attitude to some other body. Belonging to a body of believers is essential to us maturing and growing in Christ. We need to understand that everyone in a body of believers are sinners saved by grace and that we all make mistakes.. which is why we all need Jesus and his word to coexist! We should fight for unity even if it means fighting against our own flesh! That's all i got to say about that. - with love, B.Berry

When we started visiting Isaiah 58 it was clear to us what God wanted us to do. Go and build up disciples and DO life with them. Today we got to take some of our friends to Jude’s football game. Jude loves these men and I think they may love him. They made “GO JUDE!” Shirts 😆. They came home with us for burgers and watched football all afternoon. Today my home was full of men from different generations and different backgrounds. It was full of LOUD laughter and big love.

Family members and children who have loved ones who are incarcerated are an under served community of people. When a loved one is incarcerated or in recovery programs, the entire family is affected. Let’s not forget to reach out and check on them. Love them and pray for them.
