Ms. Teel is teaching the 12 steps over the next 11 weeks, every Monday from 6 to 9 if anyone would like to learn how to apply them in recovery. Step 1. We admitted we were powerless over (substance) , that our lives had become unmanageable.
This is a very important step, being honest and admitting is the first step towards a better version of you! See yall Wednesday night at 6 pm for a midweek catch up!

Substance abuse often starts and continues as a way of masking unwanted emotions such as anxiety, anger, disappointment, and fear. Physical sobriety is easy to understand. It is simply not using drugs or alcohol. The concept has obvious and clear lines. But emotional sobriety is just as important to your recovery without the easy and obvious rules. Tonight’s group focused on ways to maintain emotional sobriety.

Great Monday night group. Tonight they discussed getting out of instant gratification thinking and trusting the process. Recovery comes with a lot of change-that’s the point of it. To have different outcomes we gotta do different things! One of those things is learning to be content and not rush the process. It’s important to find healthy outlets, but equally as important to be able to “just be”. Everyone have a beautiful night and see yall Wednesday night for a midweek catchup!

They call it a drug, but that word is far too soft. This isn’t w**d or whiskey. No, m**h is som**hing else entirely. M**h is sorcery.
When I was in its grip, I didn’t feel high. I felt haunted.
It starts like any ritual. A pipe. A flame. A crystal shard. A moment of silence. Then the inhale. And with it, som**hing enters. It doesn’t come as light; it comes as shadow. It wraps itself around your spine and begins to whisper. At first, those whispers feel like power. You think you’re unlocking som**hing: limitless energy, untouchable confidence, euphoria. Sleep? No. Who would sleep through som**hing as good as this?
But it’s a lie.
You aren’t unlocking anything.
You’re being bound.
M**h doesn’t just alter your mood - it alters your soul. I’ve watched people lose their reflection in the mirror, watched their eyes shift from windows to prisons. I know, because it happened to me. I wasn’t myself anymore. I was a puppet, and the strings weren’t just chemical, they were spiritual.
People don’t understand until they’ve lived it: m**h is demonic. It doesn’t just take your health, your teeth, your money, your kids. It takes your will. It tears open a spiritual door that most people never knew existed, and once that door is opened, som**hing comes through. Som**hing dark. Som**hing ancient. Som**hing hungry.
That’s why m**h is unlike anything else. It doesn’t just kill - it curses.
And that’s why most people can’t get free on their own. Rehab, jail, programs - they help some, but when someone truly breaks free from m**h, there’s almost always a deeper story. A holy one.
Jesus.
Not religion. Not a vague belief. I mean Jesus. The Son of God who walked into the hell I had made and pulled me out. I didn’t get clean because I got strong. I got clean because the One who is stronger than death itself stepped into my grave and pulled me out.
The demons didn’t flee when I got tired of using. They fled when I finally fully submitted to the One who makes them tremble.
Jesus.
M**h is sorcery, and you don’t break a spell with willpower. You break it with deliverance. That’s why I speak boldly now. That’s why I risk sounding crazy. Because I was crazy. I lived in a realm of darkness that most people only glimpse in nightmares. And now I’m free.
So if you’re reading this and m**h has its claws in you, understand this: you’re not just battling addiction. You’re battling a spirit. You’re in a war for your soul. But you’re not alone. The same Jesus who set me free is reaching for you now. Right now.
Cry out to Him. Not in polished prayer, but in desperation. He hears the raw, the broken, the guttural cry of a dying person. And He comes running.
You don’t need a lighter. You need light.
You don’t need another hit. You need to be hit by grace.
M**h is sorcery - but Jesus is the spellbreaker.

(I did not write this, if I knew who did I would definitely credit them because this is so beautifully written and word for word what life on m**h really is. Thank you Holy Spirit)

The devil doesn't come with horns and a pitchfork; he comes with a promise that the first taste is free and the feeling will last forever.

It is like the absolute silence of a house where children used to play, but now the only sound is the ticking of a clock you’re planning to pawn.

It is like having a hundred different ways to say "I'm sorry" and realizing that after the thousandth time, the words just sound like static to the people who used to believe you.

It is like looking at your hands and wondering when they started shaking, and realizing they haven't been steady since you decided that "just once" wouldn't hurt.

It is like the physical weight of a secret that is rotting you from the inside out, while you have to pretend to be interested in normal things like the weather or what’s for dinner.

It is like being a passenger in your own body, watching yourself walk away from everything good and beautiful because the itch in your veins is louder than the love in your heart.

It is like the way your heart hammers against your ribs when you see a familiar car, hoping they’ll stop and terrified that they’ll actually see what you’ve become.

It is like trading your dignity for a few hours of peace, only to wake up in a world that is louder, meaner, and emptier than the one you left.

It is like sitting in a room full of people who love you and feeling like you’re screaming behind thick glass where nobody can hear a word you say.

It is like the moment you realize you aren't chasing a high anymore; you’re just running away from the person you see when you're sober.

The truth is that addiction doesn't just take your life; it strips you down until you're a stranger inhabiting your own skin, waiting for a miracle you’re too tired to ask for.
