Today we had 3 spays and 3 neuters done on the rescue piggies. Was a very long day. 4 hr drive one way to the vet. Everyone is GREAT and we are all good and tucked in and settled for the evening. Will post more today's tomorrow as we are all tired after such a long day!!!!

Last week we took in 7 rescue piglets around 4 months old. 4 boys, 3 girls. The individual that had these pigs prior to us getting them, was involved in a hoarding case in 2022 where more than 70 animals were seized, and over 30 found deceased on his property. While these pigs were not seized, they were still under the same owner, just at a different location where he was housing more animals. These animals were not being fed at times for up to 9 days at a time, other animals found deceased, and then sold or traded at times, we tried many times to get the animals relenquished to us, we attempted having law enforcement to help us, but as many of you already know that animals are not as protected as we would like them to be and any times that law enforcement was invited to the property, the animals had water and feed prior, so again we kept failing at our attempts to obtain these animals or have something done.
This went on for over 6 weeks at least and then one day, driving by the property, all the pigs had broken out and we had to contact the owner to let him know and help get them contained, he then offered them to us and of course we agreed, within that time the pigs got our 2 additional times and we spent hours sitting outside of the property waiting for someone to show up and we made sure they didn't get into the roads. Of course, he then evaded us for a week or more and didn't return calls or reply to our messages. One of the males had a pr*****ed p***s that we let the owner know was a medical emergency and needed to be seen by a vet and still nothing. Finally my wife offered to pay $500 for the release of the animals. He agreed. We got them an area set up and picked them up the very next day.
While this has been a long, drawn out situation, we are happy to say that we now have 7 little piggies that will be looking for homes once vetted, spayed and neutered.

Big Dan is a Hoosier now!!! He along w the other 4 piggies traveled over 2100miles!!! We rescued Dan before 4th of July and fell in love with him. We couldnt think about finding his forever home as we decided it was with us. We bought a home and moved across the US to give him and the other piggies a better life with more room and GRASS 😂. Welcome home!!! 😁 😍 💙
