🎉 WOW, West Central Illinois! 🎉

What an incredible first day of WCIL Gives!

In just one day, our community raised $153,656 to support causes across the region. To put that in perspective, last year's Day 1 total was $43,510. The generosity we've seen already this year has been nothing short of amazing!

Every gift represents someone choosing to invest in the people, programs, and causes that make West Central Illinois stronger. Together, you're helping organizations expand their impact and continue serving our communities.

But we're not done yet! There is still time to support your favorite organizations, help them climb the leaderboard, and compete for prize grants throughout the event.

From our latest CARE community adoption grant recipient family.

Kelsi wrote:
Cory and I are so excited to announce that we finally were able to adopt a baby boy, we named Matthew Aaron. Matthew means "gift of God." We have been on this adoption journey for six full years. We started in 2020 and we connected with C.A.R.E. very early on. There are not a lot of local resources for adoption and C.A.R.E. was able to give us some guidance and help us in the process of starting a domestic infant adoption.
In 2021 we were approved for C.A.R.E.’s adoption grant, to be paid out after being placed with a baby. We are very excited that we were finally able to receive that grant!
From the time we found out about baby Matthew to the time that we were holding him, was four hours. We were contacted Friday afternoon, May 8 that there was a baby boy 2 1/2 hours away. He was less than 24 hours old when Cory was first able to hold him, I followed him a little later that evening, as I had to try and very quickly put a crib together so that we could bring Matthew home the very next day. Big Brother and big sisters were very excited, as they too have waited for this day for six years. They have not stopped trying to hold him since we brought him home.
Our families have been so supportive through the entire journey, many tears were shed together and prayers prayed over the last six years. The celebration and joy of bringing Matthew home have also been shared.
Mandy and other C.A.R.E. board members checked in with us often throughout the last six years and prayed for us while we waited.
We are so thankful, our family is finally completed with Matthew in it.

Congratulations "L" family!

Please join us as we celebrate the "L" family, welcoming their baby boy home. This child has been prayed for many years. Life is a gift. The first mother choose life and thoughtfully made an adoption plan for her child to be received into his forever family.

For years, CARE has been walking along side this family during their wait to be matched. We can't wait to present them with their adoption grant and meet baby boy. Praise God!
