💜 National Purple Heart Day | August 7 💜

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have been awarded the Purple Heart—one of our nation’s oldest and most respected military decorations.

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been wounded or killed in action while serving our country. It is not awarded for achievement, but for sacrifice.

Originally established by George Washington on August 7, 1782, as the Badge of Military Merit, the Purple Heart serves as a lasting reminder of the tremendous cost of our freedom.

Today, take a moment to remember those who have shed blood in defense of our nation. Their courage, resilience, and selfless service will never be forgotten.

If you know a Purple Heart recipient, thank them. Listen to their story. Honor their sacrifice.
