⛳️ What a fantastic day on the course! ⛳️

Our Annual Golf Tournament at the Carthage Golf Course on Friday, May 29, was a tremendous success! The course was full of great supporters, friendly competition, and community spirit throughout the day.

The course was in outstanding shape, and we are grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make the event a success.

A special thank you to all of our sponsors whose generosity and support helped make this year’s tournament even more successful. We couldn’t do it without you!

A big shout-out to Rotarian Jimmy Grimes for coordinating another outstanding tournament and helping make the day run so smoothly

📸 Enjoy the photo album! I know I missed a few teams while making my way around the course, but I was able to capture many great moments from the day.

Great conversations and continued momentum at our 2026 Rotary meetings. We were pleased to welcome new member Sally Stuart, hear a business and financial update from Treasurer Mike Zeiter, and receive an update from Mayor Bren Flanigan on his ongoing efforts to strengthen and move our city forward.

This week’s Carthage Rotary celebrated member milestones and welcomes Mike Brown from Joplin Big Brothers Big Sisters. It was a proud day for Rotary recognition as Melissa Little received her first Paul Harris Fellowship, with Mike Zeiter, Jerry Poston, and Bill Putnam receiving recognition for additional Paul Harris giving levels.

Mike Brown shared a heartfelt message about mentorship. Their organization experienced a 54% increase in service demand. Their greatest need right now is more Bigs, especially male mentors in our region. 🤝 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Joplin pairs caring adults with children in need of guidance, building bridges of trust, growth, and opportunity. If you or someone you know could be a mentor, visit JoplinBigBrothersBigSisters.com to learn more. Let’s keep living out “Service Above Self” every day, Carthage!

Our Carthage Rotary Club is proud to share that we have distributed dictionaries to 804 individuals—3rd-grade students across 12 surrounding schools, along with adult learners in the Citizenship Class at the Carthage Public Library. 📚✨

This long-standing initiative—made possible through the national Dictionary Project—has flourished under the leadership of Rotarian Alex Boyer, who launched this effort and has continued to guide it each year. Thanks to his dedication, the project has now reached more than 18,000 individuals.

Each year, we provide both the standard Gazetter dictionary and a bilingual edition, ensuring learners of all backgrounds have access to this valuable resource. Seeing the 3rd graders’ faces light up as they received their very own book was truly heartwarming and a wonderful reminder of the lasting impact of service. 💙💛
