The 2026 Carthage Freedom Festival Grand Marshal is Charles Roland. Charlie served in the US Army, after graduating from Carthage High School in 1952. He was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO & played basketball with Bobby Leonard. Thank you, Charlie, for your service to this great country, the USA!

The 2026 Carthage Freedom Festival's Honored Veteran is Dudley Leisure! Dudley enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1959 & served four years. He learned what a Marine was in Boot Camp, at Camp Pendleton, CA. Then, he went on to Camp Lejeune, NC & Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, for further training. He was then stationed in Thailand & Camp Smith, Hawaii. Dudley is a 1959 graduate of Carthage High School, where he played drums in band, won a spelling bee, played baseball & basketball. He also helped his family farm. Thank you, Dudley, for your service to our great country, the United States of America!!
