Carterville Lions Club/Military Salute

Carterville Lions Club/Military Salute The Carterville Lions Club is proud to Honor Veterans and active duty Military personnel.

The Military Salute was started in 2009 by the Carterville Lioness Club. In 2021 the Lioness Club passed the torch to the Carterville Lions Club. Each American flag displays a plaque with the name of an individual soldier, the branch and any conflict they may have been in. Every Memorial Weekend the flags line the walking path at Cannon Park in Carterville, Illinois.
