With great pride, I am pleased to announce the 2nd annual Jean Marie Seck Gallagher Scholarship for Carterville High School Seniors. The family of JMSG has started this year's scholarship fund off with a $500 donation.
Last year, we raised a total of $1,592.31. With your donations, we sent three very well-deserving Carterville Seniors to college with an extra $530.77 each to use toward tuition and books. These students (Ashton Gentry, Hannah Hooks, and Cole Sizemore) wrote incredible essays that included their contributions to community service and their anti-bullying efforts. We couldn't be more proud of them and are looking forward to Scholarship Night in Spring 2019 so we can do it again!
If you know of a Carterville Senior, please inform them of this financial opportunity and the other scholarships listed on the Carterville High School website.
If you would like to make a donation to the JMSG Scholarship Fund, please mail a check or money order to: Carterville High School 1415 W. Grand Ave, Carterville, IL 62918 and write "JMSG Scholarship" in the memo line of the check. Also, you can drop off donations in person at the high school.
The JMSG Scholarship Board looks forward to many more years of financial and educational contribution to our outstanding youth of the Carterville community. Jean Gallagher was passionate about her community and her kindness to others was unmatched. Her legacy lives on in this scholarship, her friends, her family, and everyone she has touched.
