What are your New Year's Resolutions? If you're looking for personal and professional growth while helping your community and children at your local school we've got you covered!

If you've considered getting employment in education this is a great way to get your foot in the door while gaining invaluable classroom experience! Even if you're not considering a career, a couple hours a day spent with children in your community can really brighten their day and yours!

We have Parent Mentors of all ages and backgrounds in classrooms across Southern Illinois! Parent Mentors work directly with students in their classrooms to help improve educational outcomes. They receive training before entering the classroom and throughout the school year. They have access to resources to help them further their own education. Parent mentors who commit 100 hours of their time will receive a monetary stipend.

We are still looking for Parent Mentors at the following schools in Southern Illinois: Vienna Grade School, Unity Point, Giant City, and Lincoln and Jefferson schools in Johnston City. Parent Mentors help students succeed in the classroom by providing support and encouragement. Can you be the next cheerleader for the kids in your community?

Parent Mentors receive ongoing training on how to best support students, teachers, and even themselves! Parent Mentors starting during the second semester can still receive a stipend payment!

Initial Training starts Monday!! Our Coordinators have been working hard to prepare for a great initial training week for their Parent Mentors! Parent Mentors will learn about goal-setting, leadership, classroom strategies, and organizing to make their schools and communities better places for everyone!

We still have room for more parents willing to make a difference!
