This Veterans Day, Let’s Show Our Older Heroes They Are Not Forgotten🇺🇸

Dear Friends of TFM,
Every year on Veterans Day we say the right words. We thank those who served. We post the flags and the hashtags.
But for many of our oldest veterans—the men and women now living in assisted living facilities—those words often feel empty. Too many of them sit quietly through the holiday, wondering if anyone still remembers the sacrifices they made decades ago.
This year, TFM is choosing action over lip service.

We are assembling personal gift bags for older veterans in assisted living. Simple, thoughtful packages filled with comfort items, notes of gratitude, and small reminders that their service still matters. These bags won’t change the world—but they will change one afternoon for someone who gave everything for ours.

Will you help us fill those bags?
Your gift—of any size—goes directly toward purchasing and delivering these packages to veterans who are too often overlooked. Together we can make sure this Veterans Day is more than words.

Please give today and help us show our older generation of veterans that we see them, we remember them, and we still stand with them.

With deep gratitude,
Zach Choate
TFM Founder

A special welcome and thank you to our new followers and potential members. Between the Facebook followers, our TikTok page, and website, we've steadily grown. To paint a better picture, it's a "night and day difference" in our operational strength, capabilities, geographical growth, and ability to reach veterans where they are.

Whether you've got it all together and are mission ready no matter the scenario, or a veteran who's struggling to make sense of it all post service, WE HEAR YOU, WE GOT YOU, & WE WELCOME YOU.

For those who aren't familiar with our past work and mission statement, please refer to previous posts or head on over to our website taskforcemountain.org. We have a busy agenda for the rest of 2026 with local outreach in Northwest GA, as well as Sarasota FL, meetups, and always the possible response to a disaster. Whether it's "boots on the ground" or a support role, we at Task Force Mountain stand ready to serve.

If you'd like to support our efforts and mission to engage our Nation's veterans with service and camaraderie, we'd like to invite you to donate through the link below. Any custom amount is appreciated and will be put to work with the veteran network and the communities they serve. If you aren't able, we ask that you LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, or FOLLOW so the algorithm works in our favor and puts this message in front of the right eyes and audience.

Here at Task Force Mountain, our leadership believes in Christ and strive to show His love through our interactions and actions taken wherever we deploy. Our testimonies show great perseverance and a merciful Father as a constant theme throughout our journeys. We also invite you to share those if you have a story or triumph. You never know, your story and testimony could be the roadmap to another brother or sister's success in their own lives. 🇺🇸🙏🪖⛰️

IRAQ INVESTIGATES U.S. FLAG TRAMPLING DURING “SOVEREIGNTY DAY”

Iraq’s government has ordered an investigation after members of the country’s Popular Mobilization Forces were filmed driving military vehicles over large American and Israeli flags during events marking Iraq’s “Sovereignty Day.”

The incident occurred in Baghdad as Iraq celebrated the end of the U.S.-led coalition’s military mission in the country. Video and photographs showed vehicles associated with the PMF, an umbrella organization that includes several powerful Iran-aligned factions, driving directly over the flags during a symbolic procession.

Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief Ali Faleh al-Zaidi condemned the incident and ordered an investigative committee to determine exactly what happened and who was responsible. His office said Iraq must adhere to its laws and established diplomatic norms and directed authorities to take appropriate legal action.

The controversy comes at a particularly sensitive moment for Iraq. The U.S.-led coalition formally concluded its military mission on September 30 after operating in Iraq since 2014 in the fight against ISIS.

Iraq designated October 1 as “Sovereignty Day” to mark the transition.

The images, however, highlight a larger challenge facing Baghdad: maintaining control over armed factions with close ties to Iran while attempting to build a new relationship with Washington following the American military withdrawal.

For Iraq, sovereignty may be easier to declare than it is to enforce.
