Camp Ozanam wrapped its final session of the summer on August 1, but the people behind it didn't stop when the last camper went home.

Vincentians refer families to camp through their home visits, all year round. They fundraise, volunteer, and stay connected to the neighbors they serve long after August ends.

Summer staff makes camp week possible. Vincentians make sure the right families find their way there in the first place.

Thank you to everyone who shows up for Metro Detroit kids, twelve months a year.

"What supplies does Camp Ozanam need?” We get this question often—and one of our favorite ways donated items make an impact is through the Camp Store!

During Closing Campfire each week, every camper gets the opportunity to visit our Camp Store and spend the tickets they’ve earned throughout their time at camp. The best part? No dollars needed! 💙

Our Camp Store is stocked with items generously donated by our amazing camp supporters. Campers get to “shop,” choose something special for themselves, and head home with a fun reminder of their week at Camp Ozanam.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated items and helped keep our Camp Store stocked. Your generosity adds one more special memory to the camp experience!

A special thank you to Susie Q's Kids, Inc. for the all the comfort care packages donated to Camp Ozanam this summer! 🐼

🎁 Interested in donating supplies directly to Camp Ozanam?
Email us at [email protected], and we’ll connect with you on the best way to donate items that are currently needed.

And stay tuned! Our Camp Ozanam Christmas Party is coming up in just a few months, which means we’ll soon be kicking off our annual request for toy donations for our campers! 🎄🎁

Thank you for continuing to Accept. Share. Develop. Caritas. and support the Camp Ozanam community all year long. 💙

Camp Ozanam ran five weeks this summer, entirely free for every camper who qualified. Round-trip transportation, meals, a sleeping bag, a duffel bag, and a full week of staff training before a single kid arrived.

None of it happens without support that lasts throughout the year, not just during camp season. Camp Ozanam continues because donors and Vincentians believe every kid deserves a week at the lake.

Help make next summer possible for Metro Detroit kids.

This summer's theme at Camp Ozanam was Called to Shine.

Each year, camp families help choose what matters most for their kids to experience at camp. This year, families voted on seven areas of growth: exploration, growing in faith, leadership, positive friendships, responsibility, self-confidence, and disconnecting from technology.

Our staff built the whole summer around those seven areas, from chapel time each morning to team-building by the lake.

"You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

That's the kind of light we watched shine at Camp Ozanam this summer.

It was a gorgeous day on Lake Huron on Friday, July 24th, as we hosted Vincentians and camp supporters to celebrate Camp Ozanam.

The day included Mass with Fr. Ron Victor and spectating the Ozzie Olympics. We were also honored to present Chuck Piotrowski with the Camp Medallion to celebrate his many years of dedication to Camp Ozanam.

Thank you to everyone who attended!
