So we are deleting comments now because folks have an opinion that does not agree with you? I think the schools should stay in their lane on this and fall back. Its the parents job to teach this to their own children. Schools are not the parents and they should not infringe on the rights of parents. If you want to encourage something like this you have parenting workshops so parents can be informed of this idea and then THEY make decision on what's best for THEIR kids not the schools. You don't tell parents what to do. You don't tell parents how to parent their child. You can suggest and then as long as the child is not being abused, step aside and let the chips fall where they may. Telling a parent not to be there for their kids is a no. There are other ways to get your point across and for the parents to consider. Stay in your lane.
We all want to teach our kids about personal responsibility and the consequences of bad decisions. No parent wants to raise a child who's not self-sufficient and ready to take on the challenges...
