This is a photo of a confirmation class of the Stone Church located NW of Elgin. The photo is taken in front of the parsonage facing east. Would anyone know any of these young people or know who purchased the parsonage or where it was moved to? Documents indicate it was sold in 1932 but do not say to who or where it was moved to. Please PM if you have any info.

The Grant County Historical Society will hold their regular quarterly meeting Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 4:00 PM MT in the commissioner's room at the Grant County courthouse in Carson.

One of the agenda items will be discussion of the Society's continued involvement with the Heil School, particularly finances and repairs. The meeting is open to all, so we urge anyone who has an interest in the Heil School to attend the meeting to provide input.

Work continues on the Stone Church. The window replacement and stucco renovation projects continue to advance towards completion.

There will be a service at the Stone Church on Sunday, July 28th as part of the Schaible family reunion being held this weekend, July 26, 27, & 28th. Breakfast will be served on the grounds between 9 - 10 am MT. Service starts at 10 am MT.
