📢 NDHA ADVOCACY UPDATE
We know there are a lot of questions surrounding the recent SBDE meeting, and we want our dental community to stay informed and engaged.

Both the authorization of RDH services and the proposed scaling assistant regulations have moved forward—but neither is final or enacted at this time.

There are still multiple steps in the regulatory process, including additional opportunities for public comment, testimony, and participation.

NDHA will continue to follow this process closely, show up, provide testimony, advocate for our profession, and keep you updated along the way. 💜🦷

🚨 URGENT: Nevada Dental Hygienists🚨

Protect Patient Safety in Nevada

‼️The Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners is in the final stages of approving language that would allow unlicensed and under-trained dental assistants to perform supragingival scaling.

The Board will vote on this proposal on Thursday, August 13.

This proposal places Nevadans’ oral health at risk by eliminating educational and licensing standards and should not move forward. Imform them they are disregarding  the over whelming opinion of the licensees THEY represent.

On August 13 at 4:30 PM, the Board will vote on the proposed “scaling assistant.” This decision could directly impact patient safety and our profession.
We are calling on RDHs, patients, and healthcare providers to submit public comments in opposition.
