Good evening everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well, First I would like to apologize for not sending out updates but this is the first update that I have to share will you all. We have been invited again this year to have our group help out at the Reno Air Races for 2019. We didn’t talk about job assignments for us but that will be coming soon.

I at this point am looking to see who is planning on coming out to help. I will need to know how many will be camping with us also. I’m sure as in the past we will be getting the same spots as in years past a total of 16 but we can always change things around to accommodate more if need be. I will be needing to give them a number so they can get our credentials together.

Please reply to this email to let me know if you plan on attending, and feel free to forward it to anyone you might think would like to help out or send me their email address so I can add them to the email list.

That is all for now and as always if you have any questions or comments feel free to call me at 775-351-9618

Good evening Washoe Jeep Club air race supporters,

Just a quick update on where I am getting everything in order for the air races.
I have talked to head of security Duane and he has confirmed that we WILL be in the same spot this year as we were last year. I’m not sure what’s going on with the selling of that property, but we are confirmed for this year. I would like to start the setup of our camp compound at 10:00 am on Sunday Sept 9th and we will need help running the power wire.

I have secured 12 hand held Wal-mart radios for our group to use again this year and Bob has a base radio in his comm trailer. Also Walmart DC7048 and Wal-Mart Transportation has made a very generous donation of $500.00 for us to help with the food or whatever we need it for, Port of subs has also donated 2 lunches again this year. Pepsi bottling company also returned this year with a donation of 10 cases of water and 10 cases of soda. I have not secured the beer donation as of now. My contact was busy with Hot August Night, but I’m fairly confident he will donate again this year.

Manny has confirmed he will not be attending this year, so Merrill Sept has stepped up and has offered his time and energy to help me out to be my right hand man this year.
I will need a supervisor to oversee the parking lot and get it set up, so if you are interested please contact me. Merrill and I are currently working on the work schedules so everyone will know when to report for work. Lorie and I will be working on the meal menu for the week this week.

I would like to thank Manny for servicing the Kubota tractor, David Baird for working on the water trailer, Hal Richardson for storing the golf cart for us, Lorie Cirves for driving to Reno and picking up the Pepsi donation on such short notice, and ALL our volunteers to help make this a successful event.

Keep looking for volunteers, the more we find the less we work and that means the more we can enjoy the races and show.

I am available by phone or email if anyone has any questions or concerns

I am looking forward to seeing everyone in a few days

Good evening everyone,

We are still in need of volunteers for the air races this year so please if you know anyone that is willing to help us out please reach out to them. We are less than a month away and I’m starting to get worried. We for the first time might have to back out of our commitment of doing all the jobs we have done in years past starting with the parking lot. As many of you know it takes a lot of people to run it, and I’m afraid we won’t be invited back next year if we bail out on them.
RARA has a waiting list of groups wanting to do what we have been blessed with doing for 54 years.
Please put your feelers out.

Good Evening everyone,
Just to inform you all we have been invited back to the Reno Air Races again this year for the 55th time. I spoke with head of security the other day and he said he couldn’t be happier with our little group. We will be doing the same things as last year, Lot 3 parking, gate 4 or whatever the call it now, gate 3 for a couple of days then move to pit gate. All gate posts have shade and is a fairly easy position. So I will need to know who will be attending this year as in the past who will be camping also so I can give him some numbers for wrist bands and car passes. Please respond to this email with your R.S.V.P. As soon as possible Please.

Now for some sad news, Today we lost Bob Glashan, He died from pneumonia this morning, so please keep Sharon and his family in your hearts and prayers.

That is all for now call or email me if you have any questions

Good Morning Jeep Club members,
Well the air races have come and gone and we all survived including the most important thing, The Washoe Jeep club . Our members keeps the annual event going. I would like to thank each and every one of you for all your hard work this past week for your help to keep this group going, I could not have pulled it off myself.

Please keep the Richardson family in you thoughts and prayers.

It was a great year AGAIN for us with the new security director commending us for our hard work and dedication to RARA and helping him out this year and for many more. Today starts my year long planning for next years event. If anyone has any suggestions please fell free to let me know. Keep a look out for new members who can help make this event a success again.

The day has come... it's move in day

09/05/2017

Good morning everyone,

We have a signed contract now so everything is officially a go. I have the wristbands in hand along with the RV placards. I will get bike and car passes when I get there.

Don't forget that the move in day is this upcoming Sunday 9-10-17 at 1000, please try to be there as close as you can so we can get camp set up. Still need a couple people to help with the power lines before everyone starts showing up. It is a whole lot easier to run it without all the rigs in place. One more thing to remind you of, we ARE working both gates starting Monday. I received a $250.00 donation from Walmart to help pay for food and drinks and my boss has loaned us a dozen hand held radios to use for our group, please take care of them, they are brand new, they will have to be checked out for the reason of accountability.

That is all for now any questions please feel free to call or email me

Good afternoon everyone,

After a very good and long talk with Duane the new head of security at RARA, we will have a contract to sign by the end of next week. We will be doing the same gate and lot and also he gave us the pit gate by our gate to man everyday from 0700 to 1700 when private security takes over. RARA will donate $2400.00 to our group plus everything we had last year without the BS that would go with it. New slate, new security director and new CEO. I call it NEW BEGINNINGS.

Manny and I have talked and we decided to make Sun Sept. 10th @ 10:00 the setup day and time for all Campers. Bob and Betsy will be there along with anyone else to help run the lines for our power. Manny and myself will be there early. We would like to see as many people as we can get to help with that task. We will start working the gates on Monday morning. And I will go shopping on Tues. for the food so bring enough to get by. Lorie and I have made up the menu for the week and it will be posted for all to see at camp. We will need ALL HANDS ON DECK this year and maybe we can find some new members to help out in the years to come.

OUR NEEDS:
We need approx 200 ears of corn for the party
Fish to cook (Lorie and I will empty our freezer of our personal stash)
A flatbed trailer to get our stuff from storage in Panther Valley.
1 BIG real fish head for our new friends to kiss on sat. hee hee

About 5 or more people to help us out.

Port of subs is onboard this year providing us with lunch on Thurs. and Sat of the week we are there and I just sent the request for donations to Pepsi. I know " what about the beer" well that has always been just a phone call away so never fear that.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support and hard work. I also would like to thank John and Pat Forbes and Ryan Smith for many years of service to us in the past. I hopefully will see all you next year.

Good afternoon all,

Just so everyone is on the same page Washoe Jeep WILL be volunteering at the 54th annual Reno air races this year. I'm sure all you know about Ryan's accident, this has made it impossible for Ryan to participate in our event this year, Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. I have asked Manny Puerta to step up and take on the challenge that Ryan has willingly done for years, he was happy to do it.
I will be calling our new contact for security in a day or two to make arrangements. Please continue to try to get new people to help out. Today's body count is 12 people confirmed after recruiting a few new people, but we need a minimum 8 more people.

Please don't hesitate to get a hold of me if you have any questions or to send people my way. I really look forward to seeing everyone again this year.
