Hello all Misfits and DC Life Recovery Family, how is everyoneโs week so far?
How important is your recovery to you?
Do you rest on the successes of yesterday and hope they are sufficient enough to propel you into another day or another week of sobriety?
I heard someone say early on..โif you drank or used every day, you should do something for your recovery every day.โ
So what does that look like for you?
Whether I read recovery literature, call a friend in recovery, go to a recovery meeting or say my prayers in the morning asking God to keep me sober, I make sure I do one thing a day.
Being in service to other people in Recovery is my favorite and most useful weapon against my addiction. I check in with people whom I know are struggling, I tell someone who is new in recovery that I believe in them. I offer love to someone who just needs to be seen, and I do it for fun and for free. I pour into others because others poured into me when I was newly sober. I keep my sobriety by sharing it with others. Each day is ask God to lead me to the people who need encouragement, and in return I am encouraged.
Whatโs one thing you are doing for your recovery today? Letโs talk about it at the DC Life Recovery Meeting tomorrow at 12 at The Northern Nevada Dream Center, Iโll save you a seat.
