Food for Thought, Carson City NV Feeding hungry children on the weekend so they can return to school Monday ready to learn.

Our mission is to provide the hungry and food insecure children in our community with healthy food for the weekends. On Fridays, at each of our schools, children in our program are discreetly given a bag of food. Each bag of food contains 6 nutritiously balanced meals, consisting of healthy proteins, fruits, vegetables and complex carbohydrates. We provide items that do not require refrigeration, stoves, dishes or flatware. Food bags weigh less than five pounds, making them easier for children to carry. The bags are placed in the child’s backpacks in a closed-door meeting. Each week, we discreetly provide a nutritious bag of food to over 200 children in 16 of our local schools.

Got milk? We're collecting individually packaged, shelf-stable milk protein drinks to help fill our weekend food bags! These drinks are a great way to add extra protein and nutrition for the children we serve.

Pick up a few extras on your next grocery trip and help us keep our bags stocked!

We're collecting individually packaged beef sticks and shelf-stable milk protein drinks to help fill our weekend food bags.

Every donation makes a difference! Donations may be dropped off at our office Monday-Thursday from 9 am to 12:30 pm!
