The Bill of Rights & Me

Our country is built on the basis that all people are born with natural rights that cannot be infringed that serve the purpose of establishing and maintaining order within our society. Secured and these blessings bestowed upon the people of our society as the Bill of Rights ordains.

I apply the freedoms and protections of this document everyday, when I go to church and when I communicate my opinions about any topic, both of which I will continue to use for the rest of my life. Speech is crucial to the function and development of any society, as it is the only method of communication that can be utilized on such a grand scale. The Bill of Rights with its protections are what enables speech to be utilized in our society without chaos.

Justice is a crucial part of our country, maintaining order and judging the boundaries of our actions paired with the rights of those affected by those actions, through the establishment and enforcement of laws and regulations that everyone must follow equally. This system is possible because of the Bill of Rights and how it defines the protection of people within the legal system. I live under this system and the protections it provides. This system allows me to carry out my everyday activities with the knowledge that I am safe under the laws of our country and they give me security in my rights as a citizen and human being.

Without the Bill of Rights, order, safety, and peace would be left to our individual devices, the basis of our actions enforced and guided by our own selfish compass through which no one would be safe form the tyranny of ourselves and our peers.

The Bill of Rights and Me

The Bill of Rights is a list of rights that protect Americans and allow them to live their lives with freedom form too much governments control. Having the right to protest, worship, and the right to bear arms are some of the rights created to be a strong barrier for U.S. citizens. What I mean by strong barriers is the government can’t take too much and other countries or nations from around the world can’t change the way we choose to live to their own way of living. Everyone is to be treated equally and have the same freedom as other people in our country. All generations, including myself and even younger kids, have those same rights too. I feel that having those rights is truly a blessing.

Our founding fathers made sure the Bill of Rights are there to protect each individual American’s liberty. Without these rights, our country would be very miserable and controlled. As a student and young adult, I am thankful that we have the bill of rights so my voice can be heard. I get to believe in what I want to believe in with regards to religion, I can choose the candidate who shares my beliefs during elections. I have the right to own fi****ms to protect myself and my family, and having the ability to choose the type of education I want to pursue in my life are all freedoms I cherish. Each person being able to have these same rights is our freedom and aids in our pursuit of happiness. I am so lucky to live in America and be an American citizen because I know I have freedom to choose how I live.

The Bill of Rights and Me

The Bill of Rights, which make up the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, was drafted for each of the colonies’ representation in the Constitutional Congress by the founding fathers that had specific, delineated rights and freedoms of the citizens. These were specified rights that were of paramount concern to the founding fathers. It was used as a means to lessen their apprehensions for the future nation’s founding.

The freedoms express in each of the 10 amendments are the foundations of daily life. My rights to speak freely and not have the federal government curtail my expressions and vocalizing, either written or verbal, permit me to wake up in the morning knowing I am not inhibited by a national police force. Americans have the right to read a newspaper of their choice and the government cannot restrict the newspaper selection. I have the right to worship in my church and in public square to my God. I can hold and possess fi****ms with no restrictions from the federal government because of the second amendment. The fourth amendment makes sure the government cannot inflict a new law on me without due process. I also know about my ability to be made aware of the regulation beforehand. Owning to the fifth amendment, I know that there is a judicial system where the government cannot compel me to say something when questioned by an official. I benefit knowing that if I ever were to go to court, I am entitled to speedy trial with a jury of peers. I know that I am safe from cruel and unusual punishment by the 8th amendment. The remuneration of rights of the ninth amendment lets me be immune to other’s actions without using the federal court system. According to amendment number ten, all things delineated in the constitution are left to the states to determine how it would apply to me.

The Bill of Rights in my existence today permits me to be endowed with liberty and self determination for myriad of my daily decisions.

The Bill of Rights and Me

The Bill of Rights clearly states our most basic fundamental rights under the current government structure. The fact that these amendments protect my liberties and those of the states speaks volumes. Our freedom is given and protected by this document; this is the importance of the Bill of Rights in my life.

The Bill of Rights consists of the first ten amendments to the constitution. It is the formal documentation of our basic rights under the current government. These are our civil rights, rights of accused persons, and states’ powers.

Many people aren’t aware of what the Bill of Rights actually does. Just asking my peers I find that there is a certain amount of confusion over the document. When first written by James Madison, the Bill was a milestone for the progression of society. People who had been persecuted for their beliefs and options were now assured the freedom of expression. This is something that is still not a reality for millions of people around the world. It also protects the rights of accused citizens. With the amount of freedom we are given it is easy to do wrong. When that happens we are liable to be punished, but multiple amendments outline our protection in this case. It also gives all powers not granted to the Federal government, to the states and people.

These liberties are often taken for granted by the American people. The US has provided these rights to its citizens for decades. It can be difficult to grasp that many other people aren’t allowed these simple freedoms. Our troops have fought and died for the American dream, protected by the Bill of Rights.

The Bill of Rights, is a symbol to me; a promise even. It protects us from our government and lets us live how we want to live. So to me, the Bill of Rights is the symbol of our freedom, more so even than the flag or bald eagle. It is the actual presentation of what America stands for and I, for one, am grateful.
