Launched in 2005 by the NPEF, Ready for Life is a collaborative cross-agency effort to improve Nevada’s success at engaging and graduating “ready for life” students and reengaging those who prematurely left school. In Washoe County, key business and community leaders with a strong interest in creating a community ethic that values education, recently created the Washoe Ready for Life Community Com

pact, which aspires to engage an entire community to promote the timely completion of K-12 education as an essential component to develop youth.
