Carson Bulldogs Wrestling Club The Bulldogs is a youth wrestling program that has been here since the 1970's! Strong Traditions! Over the years the program evolved.

By way of introduction, the Carson Bulldog Wrestling Club has been in existence since the late 1970's, when Cleo Pulsipher and Bing Blood began rolling around on the mat with a few kids on Saturdays with the recreation department. Tom Brooks helped start a league in the early 1980's. Mike and Melody Whitcome took over the program in 1994 and officially named the team "The Carson Bulldogs" continui

ng to coach/Direct through to 2000. In 2001 Ken Chalk took over and succesfully ran the program through 2005. Since the 2006 season, Steve Lani has been the Director/coach and Bob McDonald has been the head coach. This 2012 season we are fortunate to have Mike Whitcome back as Director and Coach. We have a range of 60 to 110 Wrestlers per year. Many of these Wrestlers go on to have a successful High School and College Wrestling careers. In Fact, the High School Varsity Teams, for the last 7 years, have been mostly Bulldog Wrestlers. The Bulldog Youth Wrestling Club is a Chartered Club within the Sierra Wrestling Association. We are chartered and insured under USA Wrestling. USA Wrestling is the same organization that sanctions our Olympic Wrestling Team. There are currently 13 such clubs in the Northern Nevada area, with approximately 32 clubs in Nevada. MISSION STATEMENT
We believe that wrestling reveals character. This individual, competitive effort demands sportsmanship of the highest ethical standards. We believe that enhancement of character and the developement of sportsmanship is accelerated through individual competition and will ultimately help our children become more productive and successful members of society.

A true tragedy has hit the wrestling community in Northern Nevada. Such a young and amazing soul is gone. Mario Escajeda Jr. was a great athlete with great sportsmanship.

Well, first and foremost a huge THANK YOU to the Tahoe Knight Monsters!!!! We were privileged to sell tickets for the opening game through our link, however, they also had us selling the 50/50 raffle tickets at the game. So we took a few Bulldogs and went up and down the stairs, and up and down, and up and down, and…well you get the point. 😂

I will say though we had a blast!!! Such a great time. And we raised some money for the club.

On three occasions we were told no and then the people said “wait, you’re with the Bulldogs? Ok, I’ll grab some” all three were Bulldogs years ago. What a wonderful thing we are part of. Legacy. Community. Purpose. Success, year, after year, after year.

We are so excited and ready for this season!!!!

We will still be accepting registration for a couple more weeks.
