It's a gorgeous beautiful Friday CASA Fans! But TOMORROW is the day we've all been waiting for!

Come out and help us celebrate our 4TH Annual "Walk Us Home" 8k / 5k / 3k walk/run and FREE Family Resource Fair on Saturday, May 9 beginning at 9:00am at the phenomenal Brewery Arts Center.

Today we are PREPPING, and PACKING, and PREPARING for all to come on Saturday, May 9. Currently, we are busy bees here at the CASA office putting together our THANK YOU bags for all of our amazing vendors that come out and share their services with the community. We couldn't do it without you.

Happy Friday CASA Fans ~
The month of April marks National Prevent Child Abuse month.

Today, we here at CASA had the honor and privilege to participate in the annual Pinwheels for Prevention ceremony at the Nevada Legislature. Each year, Advocates to End Domestic Violence and Prevent Child Abuse Nevada invite the community and stakeholders to participate in planting pinwheels on the lawn. Over a thousand pinwheels will bring focus, enlightenment and hope to those that have experienced child abuse nationwide.

HOPE is what the symbolism of the pinwheel truly represents. Community collaboration. Empowering families. Strengthening children. The focus is to be a memory of each child, each voice symbolizing the stories of those who have experienced trauma and how we as a collective whole, a community, can stop child abuse. Through education, intervention services, speaking engagements, collaboration and just simply speaking up! All of us can assist children in feeling confident and secure.

It was an honor for CASA of Carson City to be asked to speak today, before the community. The turn out was truly a success with the sun shining and the glittering, sparkling magic of the pinwheels spinning freely in the air -- this is the strength of our community, coming together and serving children and families.

Wear your BLUE today! Be proud. Speak up! Lift up a child's voice. Be present for a family. Be a community.

What a wonderful start to National Prevent Child Abuse month.

Happy Monday CASA Fans!
I just wanted to take a brief moment to bring your attention to one truly amazing volunteer.

Not only is she a wonderful CASA Advocate! Her and her family own the phenomenal 3 Arrows Games here in Carson City.

3 Arrows Games is a friendly, local game store created by a family who loves to play games. There's games like Pokémon, Monopoly, Catan and just so much more! You'll find them at 4600 Snyder Avenue # C -- right next to Homegrown Bowling and Axohelado Ice Cream. What a treat!

Recently, Emily and her family were nominated as part of 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 favorite game store! Congratulations Emily!

So, for your next family "game" night, take a stroll on down to 3 Arrows Games and browse their great selection. We are so happy to have you be a part of our community, supporting our families and bringing joy to all. ❤️ Make sure to give them a vote!

Good Saturday Morning CASA Fans ~

While I do spy a little bit of sunshine ☀️ creeping through those clouds 🌥️, our mountains are still nothing short of a Winter ❄️ Wonderland.

Today is the perfect day to give thanks and spotlight not just ONE but TWO amazing community partners whom continue to go above and beyond in supporting our children in foster care.

First, CASA of Carson City would like to express our ongoing appreciation and a long, large, hearty THANK YOU to the wonderful individuals at the Carson Valley Quilt Guild. This local nonprofit is dedicated to advancing quilting as an art form through education.
There are workshops, get togethers and all of those beautiful quilts that roll our our CASA doors on the regular for our children in the community. They have been an ongoing supporter of CASA and the children herein for many years. Each quilt is lovingly crafted, sumptuously soft and just beautiful.

We thank you. The children thank you. You bring such joy to all.

Second, CASA of Carson City wants to give a great big shout out to the wonderful members of the Carson Valley NV Sertoma for their Annual Coat Drive. Each year, this amazing organization (in partnership with FISH (Friends in Service Helping) ) works with local businesses and community members in collecting jackets, hats, mittens and more, for those in need within our surrounding communities. The Sertoma name means......SERvice TO MAnkind and the local operation has been in service since 1978! That's amazing. We truly could not be more grateful to your ongoing support to the community and our children in care. This winter, especially with all this current snow, our kiddos are blessed with warm, cozy jackets and we are truly honored to work along side you.

We thank you. The children thank you. You bring exuberance to us all.
