Five local high school students received scholarships in the Kiwanis Art & Music Showcase on February 8, 2026.
Abigail Chihia, senior at Bowdon High School, was presented a scholarship of five hundred dollars for her best-in-show painting, Famlly Refections. The referring teacher is Ms. Stephanie Norton.
Paola Nunez Rosendo, senior at Central-Carroll High School, was presented a scholarship of four hundred dollars for her first place pedestal art Wig Industry. The referring teacher is Ms. Tuesdee Lambert,
Cloe Robertson, junior at Villa Rica High School, was presented a scholarship of three hundred dollars for her second place painting Intertwined, The referring teacher is Mr. Carl Jordan.
Genesis Rivera, senior at Central-Carroll High School, was presented a scholarship of two hundred dollars for her third place painting World Colonialism. The referring teacher is Ms. Tuesdee Lambert.
Imani Jackson, senior at Villa Rica High School, was presented a scholarship of one hundred dollars for her fourth place painting Breaking News. The referring teacher is Mr. Carl Jordan.
Two pieces of art received honorable mention and are also eligible to compete in the Georgia District Show in Macon Georgia to represent grade levels.
Jerrico Hardy, sophomore at Villa Rica High School, was recognized with honorable mention for painting Lilβ Bro. The referring teacher is Mr. Carl Jordon.
Calen Robinson, freshman at Bowdon High School, was recognized with honorable mention for painting Historic Waterfall. The referring teacher is Ms. Stephanie Norton.
