Chapters give each member the opportunity to develop leadership skills through officer positions and to improve his or her communities through service projects.

WoodmenLife Rep. Randy Simpson w/chapter leaders made a huge difference with the chapter's donation for their Q4 CBR event of care packages to the Baptist Center in Reform, AL. Pictured, left to right, Lois Doss, FP volunteer, Mr. Simpson, Sandra Shirley, WoodmenLife Chapter President, FP volunteer, Pat Pugh and Denise Evans. The FP staff expressed, "we are very thankful to WoodmenLife's contribution to our community. It is because of the support and presence of organizations like WoodmenLife that make our community a better place to live and make a difference for these legitimate causes.

Today, we feature WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarship recipient, Meredith H. She is graduating with honors from UCCA. Meredith was awarded Merit, Leadership, and School of the Arts Scholarships from Samford University. Furthermore, she has been selected as a University Fellow and will have the opportunity to study abroad in Italy after completing her sophomore year. Meredith serves as President of Eta Sigma Alpha. She has also placed in numerous fiddle competitions throughout the southeast and is the 2022-2023 Alabama State Buck Dancing Champion. Meredith participated in Meals on Wheels for 9 years, attended the University of Alabama’s LEAP Program and TeenPact Leadership Schools in Tennessee and Alabama, was an officer at Alabama Girls State, was a certified lifeguard, and served as a Dual Enrollment Ambassador for Shelton State. After completing a degree in music at Samford, Meredith plans to pursue a master’s degree in business.

Field representative Randy Simpson, on behalf of WoodmenLife Chapter 116, presents US flags to the City of Reform. Accepting are WL members Jenny Fields and Glenn Heritage. Jenny and Glenn volunteer taking care of displaying the flags on holidays and special patriotic occasions.

Join WoodmenLife Representative, Randy Simpson in congratulating another recipient of a $500 WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarship. Plus the local WoodmenLife chapter, is matching, making it $1,000! Haley Wyatt from Northport, AL. Haley graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 2020, has been attending Shelton State and this fall will enroll at the University of Alabama to pursue a degree in Business Management. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, spending time with friends, family and traveling. Her parents are Heath and Sandi Wyatt.

Haley wishes to express to WoodmenLife, “I greatly appreciate WoodmenLife for selecting me as one of the recipients for this scholarship and investing your resources into my future. This means so much to me and my family and will be definitely put to great use. Again, I am honored for the opportunity. Thank you so much.”
