In March 2016, a little nugget joined HLHR Husky House. Her name was Harper (later to be known as Doodles).
She was in desperate need of a medical rescue because it was suspected she had bi-lateral ectopic ureters (which was later confirmed by a veterinarian at Auburn).
That July, she was adopted by the McCullough family (who also have our Rhea and Stella). Charlie and Cheryl were relentless in their efforts to give Doodles the best life she could have, taking her to their vet and to specialists at UGA any time she needed, never hesitating to do whatever it took to keep Doodles as well as she could be.
Unfortunately, today, they had to say goodbye. Doodles' body just couldn't fight any longer. And, while everyone is heartbroken, Doodles had an AMAZING life with the McCullough's. And, while HLHR agreed initially to help her, they are the ones who truly saved her, and I know they, especially Charlie, (Doodles was a daddy's girl) will miss her most.
Please send soft Woo's to them this afternoon. As for Doodles, she's wearing her silver harness proudly and running like the wind, pain and illness free, just like all the snow noses who have gone before her.
Rest easy, precious girl. You were so loved.~Brandy
