That’s a wrap!!!! What an incredible trade show hosted by ICSC.

I can’t begin to explain the number of positive interactions and conversations that started all the way back on Sunday evening. This week was chalked full of intentional discussions focused on helping shape the future of our community.

CCCDC remains committed to economic development through our three pillars: Industry, Commercial, and Quality of Life. Economic development is not a spectator sport… and Carrollton will be at the table!

A huge thank you to the City of Madisonville for helping make this opportunity a success.

I’m leaving this week feeling energized, hopeful, and confident about the growth ahead for our community. Let’s Go!!!

Day 1 at the ICSC Trade Show in Las Vegas!

Proud to be representing Carrollton and Carroll County on a national stage alongside Kentucky Connections and several other Kentucky communities. This is one of the largest retail and development conferences in the country, bringing together retailers, developers, brokers, and site selectors from all over the U.S.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing the story of Carrollton:
✅ Our location along I-71
✅ Our growing momentum
✅ New opportunities for retail, housing, and mixed-use development
✅ Our investments in quality of life and community growth

Big things happen when communities are willing to show up, build relationships, and think long-term. We’re here to do exactly that.

Excited for the conversations ahead and proud to represent our community!

A great example of quality of life in action right here in Carroll County 👇

This past weekend, I ran the Wolf Pack Adventures Half Trail Marathon at General Butler State Resort Park—and was fortunate to bring 🏠 1st 🥇🏃‍♂️in the half marathon.

More importantly, it’s a reminder of something we believe strongly at CCCDC…

Trails matter. Experiences matter. Community matters. 🌲

Events like this are made possible through strong partnerships—General Butler State Park, Friends of Butler, and Wolf Pack Adventures—all working together to activate our outdoor spaces 🤝

Our investment in trails and recreation is about more than paths—it’s about:
• Bringing people together 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
• Supporting health and wellness 💪
• Attracting visitors and future residents 📍

Proud to support TRACC and continue building a stronger, more connected community.

“Where Vision Meets Opportunity”

04/01/2026

Please stop apologizing to volunteers.

“Sorry to take up your time. We’ll keep this short. We don’t want to burden you.”

Then we stick them in a meeting where nothing happens. Reports. Updates. Discussions that go nowhere.

People quit because their time is being wasted, not because they don’t want to serve.

Most people’s lives are already full of meaningless garbage. Hours scrolling Instagram. Shopping for stuff they don’t need. Binge-watching Netflix.

Everyone pretends they’re so busy, but they’re starving for something that actually matters.

Volunteers don’t need shorter meetings. They need work that matters.

Give someone two hours on Saturday to pull weeds downtown and watch what happens. They see the difference immediately. They feel useful.

That’s what people are looking for.

Stop protecting volunteers from real work. If you give them something tangible, something that makes a visible impact, they’ll show up.

And they’ll bring friends.

🌿 40+ Volunteers. One Vision. Real Progress. 🌿

What started as an idea is now taking shape on the ground at Camp Kysoc.

This week, more than 40 volunteers came together—led by the Trail Association of Carroll County (TRACC)—to kick off Phase 1 of a new trail connection from Jay Louden Rd. into Camp Kysoc’s existing trail system.

💪 With boots on the ground, chainsaws running, and a lot of teamwork, this group—including 25 students and teachers from our local high school—began building something that will benefit our community for years to come.

This wasn’t just a workday.
It was a demonstration of what happens when a community shows up.

These efforts are part of CCCDC’s continued focus on quality of life initiatives—creating spaces that promote outdoor recreation, connectivity, and pride in where we live.

👏 Huge thank you to TRACC, our students, educators, and every volunteer who put in the work. This is just the beginning of a larger trail network vision for Carroll County.
