My Hometown Carrollton board members and volunteers were trained on our new sound system this morning. We are excited to utilize this new system with our park and upcoming events. Technology allows us to use a tablet or our phones to operate the digital mixer-FANCY!! Special thanks to Vox Box in Marshall for getting us set up and trained!🎶📻🎤

Our new executive director, Cathy Benson, traveled to Springfield this week to attend the 2026 Missouri's Premier Downtown Revitalization Conference, which is the annual conference for Missouri Main Street Connection (MMSC).

This year’s annual conference celebrates 20 roaring years of impact by helping Missouri communities strengthen their historic downtowns, grow local economies, and build places where people want to live, work, and belong.

This year’s theme, “The Roaring 20th Anniversary of Missouri Main Street Connection,” uses two decades of success as the foundation for continuing the momentum for revitalizing Missouri’s communities. Local leaders will be equipped with Main Street’s tools to address the needs of today’s communities by expanding our focus on housing development, small business resilience, economic development, and the creation of vibrant, walkable districts that support economic opportunity for all.

Cathy was accompanied by My Hometown Carrollton board member/treasurer, Tammy Johnson. "It was a delight to explore downtown Springfield and enjoy their revitalization efforts. Totally amazing!", said Tammy. Cathy agreed, "This conference gave us some valuable insight to bring back to Carrollton! Can't wait to get back and share with our team. Small towns like Marceline and Stanberry gave presentations that will help propel our local efforts here in a big way."
