New Opportunities Carroll County Family Development Center Programs offered to low income individuals and families, disabled and elderly individuals in need.

For many in crisis, Carroll County Family Development Center is their frist stop in Carroll County to seek help. By offering many great services in one location we are able to cut back on administrative and operational costs. The experts at New Opportunitites work closely with the individual and/or family to get them connected to applicable services and on the road to achieving self-sufficiency.

Our Back-to-School Supply Drive was a huge success. This year 153 children from Kindergarten – 8th grade received new backpacks and supplies for this school year.
I would like to thank the following organizations for their generous monetary donations: Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club and some anonymous donors. Your monetary donations helped us purchase supplies and backpacks!
I also want to thank the following organizations who donated supplies: First United Methodist Church, St Anthony Regional Hospital, St John Lutheran Church, and St Paul Lutheran Church. The supplies you donated greatly increased the volume of items we were able to give to students in need.
I also want to thank all the volunteers who sorted and filled all the bags. Pictured below are Linda McClellan and Carol Tigges. We are so grateful for your willingness to help with this very special program.
And finally, I would like to thank the following business’ who had a Back-to-School supply drop off box at their locations: Walmart, Walgreens, C**n Rapids Municipal Utilities, and Glidden City Hall.
Thank you all again. Back to school time can be very costly to low-income households, causing increased strain on budgets. Because of your donations, we were able to lessen the stress on many families. Your generosity helps our organization assist those in need and is very much appreciated. Thanks again for your support now and in the future.

Grayson Hanlin along with his grandmother Janet just dropped off 5 Birthday Bags. Grayson decorated the bags and each bag has a cake pan, box cake, frosting, candles, balloons, birthday plates and napkins. All the items are needed to make another child’s birthday very special. Grayson is going into 3rd grade and to take the time that was involved to decorate these birthday bags and include all the items listed above was such a generous and creative way to give back to another low-income family celebrating their child’s birthday. Thank you, Grayson, for giving back and making another child’s birthday very special.
