We are thinking about placing another order for t-shirts! If you would like a shirt, please message Emily Dvorak names and sizes by Sunday, August 31. We won’t know the exact cost until we get the final number of shirts to print, but expect cost to be around $25 per shirt.

Yesterday was amazing. We just feel so blessed by all of your support. Family, friends, community members, we just can’t tell you enough how much gratitude fills our hearts to have you all show up.

Being honest, we didn’t have high expectations for year three of the walk (due to our very limited planning!). Yet there you all are, bringing your abundant love and generosity time and time again.

We will keep fighting through the days of missing Lynne and keeping everyone who has been impacted by ALS close to our hearts. We also see you all who have experienced the passing of a loved one(s) too early in their own ways. We grieve with you. Our hope lies in being together physically and in spirit with the ones we love for the time we have.

Hi all! We are so excited to walk with you tomorrow. We will start walking at 10:00 AM, and the shelter house will be open at that time as well for those who would like to hang out while others walk.

Pack yourself some beverages and lawn chairs to hang around for a little while afterwards if you’d like! Reminder that there will not be food trucks this year, so if you want to pack snacks/food for yourself, please do.

If we get enough interest, we will do another co****le tournament. Otherwise, it’ll be just hanging out and yard games after!

We appreciate everyone for coming tomorrow and all who are walking and remembering from afar. 💛

You've done it again folks. Our fundraising total for the 2024 Walk to Defeat ALS was $20,185! That is two years in a row that you have helped us raise over $20,000 for the The ALS Association - Iowa Chapter. This is truly an amazing tribute to Lynne Dvorak, and we (Lynne's family), could not be more grateful for your love and support. May we live in a world one day where ALS does not exist! You're honoring Lynne's legacy and helping us get there.

I’m not going to lie, going into year two I didn’t think we would raise anything near what we did in year one (just over $20,000). Coming into the day, we had raised around $8,000, so my hopeful goal for the day was $11,000. A few of Lynne’s brothers agreed to shave their heads if we hit a goal during the day and told me to shoot them a stretch of a number, so I said $15,000. The final number raised as of this morning. . .

And we’re not done yet. I am confident that we will surpass our total from last year!

We continue to be humbled by the generosity of our community, and we continue to struggle to find the words to tell you all “thank you”. To everyone who walked, who donated, who bought a shirt, who did yoga or played the bags tournament, to those who supported us from afar and walked on their own, to the lemonade stands, the food trucks, and to all of you who have supported us in all of the unique ways that you have since the beginning, you have our deepest, deepest thanks for making year two so special. 💛🧡💙

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE 🤣😭

IF you ordered in Order 2 AND your order included an orange t-shirt, your order will not be ready to pick up tomorrow (Thursday) between 4:00-7:00. ALL other orders are ready to be picked up! Orders that included an orange t-shirt will hopefully be ready to pick up Friday evening or the morning of the walk.

Join Ashley at the Livin' for Lynnie Fundraiser at Swan Lake THIS SATURDAY! She will be leading an outdoor Yoga class at 8:00 AM. This class is suitable for all ages, levels, and abilities.

*The class will be moved indoors if it rains. The forecast looks great!

UPDATE: Order #2 of tshirts are delayed.
If you ordered from the first order, you can still pick up tshirts tomorrow as scheduled. If you placed your order during the second order, please check back for a pick up time. We are really hopeful it will be before the walk on Saturday!

We will be having a Tshirt pickup (if you ordered during the FIRST order) this Saturday from 9:00am-12:00 at the Dvorak household (1948 N Main St)! We may have a second pick up time before the walk, so stay tuned, but you can also pick up your shirts the morning of the walk at Swan Lake Eastside Shelter house beforehand.
