🎃October is moving🎃

Here’s where you can find Checkpoint in the community this month, starting tomorrow at Hillberry Music Festival through our Access Point with Disco's Grill at The Farm.

From festivals and community giveaways, prevention resources, and local coalition work, we’ll be showing up in a few different places this month along with our trap house outreach & rural outreach and routes.

Save the dates and come see us. 🤝

Big thank you to our printing partner Hog Country Media LLC for donating more than 1,000 labels since partnering with Checkpoint. ❤️

That kind of support helps us stretch every dollar further as we build kits, stock Access Points, and keep outreach moving.

Even with donated supplies, there are still real costs behind the work, so every donation, supply contribution, and business partnership helps move Checkpoint forward.

Carroll County showed up. ❤️

Checkpoint had a great time set up at A Cup of Love Ministry during Jeremiah Recovery House Annual Poker Run!

Between the bikes, stunts from 12 O' Clock Shop, live music from Little Mickey, Liz Zotta, and JR Poulson. Along with free food, families, bouncy houses, conversations, recovery shining through, people stopping by our table, it was just a good day to be out in the community.

We were able to provide free naloxone and overdose prevention resources, and talk with people about what Checkpoint is building across Arkansas. Some people stopped by because they needed supplies. Some wanted to meet us and learn, some just came over to talk, and every bit of it matters. 🤗

A huge thank you to 29:11 Healing & Recovery Center and A Cup of Love Ministry for always making space for Checkpoint and for continuing to support this kind of community work. You guys are an asset to so many. ❤️

💛 Every event like this helps make lifesaving resources a little easier to find and reminds small communites that support doesn’t always have to start behind an office door. Sometimes it starts by showing up and every time we show up openly and without judgment, stigma loses a little more ground. 🫡

🖇Big thank you to Holiday Island Fire Department for taking the time to meet with Checkpoint yesterday and for being open to expanding naloxone access for first responders in the area.

We were able to provide naloxone and RiVive, to help keep lifesaving medication available when it is needed most.

We really appreciate the work first responders do every day and are grateful for our continued partnership helping strengthen overdose response and follow up across Carroll County.

💛 SAVE A LIFE DAY CAMPAIGN UPDATE 💛
Our Save a Life Day fundraiser officially closed Monday night. 🎯 We set a goal of $350 and raised $260, reaching 74% of the goal.

➡️ We did not reach the full number, but $260 is real support, and we do not want that to get lost just because the goal was higher. 💛 Those funds will help cover parts of this work that people do not always see, including route fuel, printing, outreach materials, access point restocking, kit preparation, direct community outreach, and when needed, emergency support like food or temporary housing.

⬇️ And that support is going into a network that continues to grow.

📍 32 active Checkpoint access points
❤️ 50+ reported overdose reversals
🌎 First public naloxone access we helped establish in 15 communities across Arkansas and Missouri, plus along the Highway 412.

➡️ Save a Life Day may happen on one date, but keeping free lifesaving resources within reach is year round work

🙌 Thank you to every person who donated, shared the campaign, displayed a flyer, talked about the work, or helped us reach more people. Every share, every dollar, every conversation, and every person willing to help matters.

📊 We will also share another update showing how the $260 is put to work, so the community can see what its support helped make possible.
➡️ The Save a Life Day campaign is now closed, but Checkpoint’s work does not stop here. Anyone who wants to support Checkpoint’s year round work can still make a one time donation or become a monthly supporter to help sustain the gaps we continue to close, especially in rural communities. 💛

🫶 Thank you for supporting this work and believing in what we are building. Each and every one of ya! 🤝

This weekend was a pretty good reminder of what the Checkpoint network has grown into. 🪴

🎑Our volunteers were at Lost Times Festival Retreat beside the medical team with free naloxone and other prevention and safety supplies.

🫶At the same time, one of our volunteers had already made sure First Step with Christ Foundation was stocked with naloxone for their unhoused outreach on Saturday.

And beyond either of those places, our public Access Points were still doing what they do every day across Northwest Arkansas, and into the Missouri area. 🗺

Checkpoint is a growing network of businesses, volunteers and community partners keeping prevention resources within reach every day.

Different places, same goal. 🫡

These are the kinds of words that remind us why the behind the scenes stuff matters. 💛

One person described Checkpoint as a “much needed resource in this community.” (Carroll County)

Another, after we helped navigate and we're able to provide safety a really difficult situation, told us

“Checkpoint was my voice when I couldn’t find it. They saved my life.”

➡️That is what we are trying to keep available.

The naloxone may be free. The conversations are free. The navigation, advocacy and showing up are free to the person who needs them. But keeping all of it moving still takes gas, printing, supplies, routes and operating support.

Our Save a Life Day goal closes tomorrow, and you all have already raised $260 of $350. 🫶

🤏We are only $90 away from finishing it.🏁

If you have been thinking about helping Checkpoint, even $5 or $10 gets us closer. 💛

📣COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT📣
📍FARMINGTON, AR📍

Some community partners quietly become part of the foundation of the work, and Urban Fringe is one of those places for Checkpoint.

💥They helped establish Farmington’s first Checkpoint public naloxone access point and make free naloxone available through their community pantry. Fringe & Friends Food Pantry matters on its own too because it gives people another place to access food and basic needs without a religious requirement attached. 🤗

📎 But their support of Checkpoint has gone far beyond keeping naloxone available.

They customized and regularly donate two different styles of Checkpoint pins for us. They have helped with gas when a treatment transport stretched more than 200 miles, and the person we were able to help that day is still doing well and working today. When we were raising money for the Central Arkansas Expansion, they stepped up again with Disco's Grill and matched donations. 💯

✨️And most of that has happened without them asking for attention or recognition. They simply believe in the work and continue finding ways to help us do it.

Those are the kinds of community relationships that make a small organization stronger than its bank account sometimes suggests. 🫶

Thank you Urban Fringe for being an access point, a community resource, and one of the quiet supporters behind a lot more Checkpoint work than most people probably realize. 💛

☯️💛LAST NIGHT AT Lost Times Festival 💛☯️

Checkpoint is out at Lost Times for the final night of the festival, set up right beside the medical tent.

We were really grateful to be invited into this space and even more grateful for the team that has kept the table going all weekend.

We have water, free naloxone, and other prevention and safety supplies available, along with a team that is there to answer questions, help connect somebody to a resource if needed, or simply make sure people have a few things on hand that can make the night safer.

💃No lectures. No judgment. No assumptions about why you need something. Just take what helps and enjoy the rest of the festival on this Harvest moon night🌚🕺

Huge thank you to Lost Times, the medical team beside us, and the Checkpoint volunteers who made this weekend possible!💯

➡️Prevention works better when it is already there before somebody needs it.
