Carrizo Springs Lions Club We serve. Made up of people who want to improve our community, the Club makes a difference in our community and are committed to the work to get it done.

The Lions Club has over 45,000 clubs in 200 countries, making it the world's largest volunteer service organization, beginning in 1917. Lions and volunteers are welcomed and respected for their vision, integrity, and dedication to our official motto: "We Serve." Since 1968, the Lions Club International Foundation has raised and distributed hundreds of millions of US dollars to help Lions tackle gl

obal problems like blindness and hearing loss and respond to major catastrophes like earthquakes and floods. This foundation gives Lions Club International its greatest global impact, but it also serves communities buy providing local Lions with the means to build schools, health clinics, vocational rehabilitation, and other large scale humanitarian projects that address community needs. 🔔 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Carrizo Springs Shooting Range Rules & Safety Enhancements 🔔
Range is no longer restricted for use on Saturday mornings from 7:00am - 12:00pm as of April 26, 2026.

The Carrizo Springs Lions Club is committed to providing a safe, responsible, and well-managed shooting environment for our members and community. Here is a summary of the current Shooting Range Rules and Procedures (effective February 2026).

🔐 What’s New & Improved

✔️ Enhanced Safety Standards

Reinforced firearm handling rules aligned with NRA safety principles
Clear requirements for when fi****ms may be loaded/unloaded
Increased focus on downrange safety and proper firearm control

✔️ Stricter Target & Range Use Guidelines

Only approved targets allowed:
Paper targets (rifle/pistol)
Regulation clay targets (shotgun)
Prohibited: metal, glass, and improvised targets due to safety risks

✔️ Defined Range Operations

Range hours:
8:00 AM to sunset
Extended hours (until 10:00 PM) for lighted shotgun ranges
Parking, gate access, and range flow expectations clarified

✔️ Stronger Membership & Access Enforcement

Membership card must be in your possession at all times
Unauthorized users will be considered trespassing
Introduction of guest day passes

✔️ Conduct & Responsibility Expectations

No alcohol, illegal drugs, or unsafe behavior permitted
No shooting at wildlife or livestock
Minors must be supervised at all times
All events, classes, and competitions must be pre-approved

✔️ Facility Protection & Cleanliness

All trash, brass, and hulls must be properly disposed of
Damage to property will be subject to enforcement action

✔️ Security & Accountability

The range is now under video surveillance. Violations may result in membership termination and/or legal action.

⚖️ Why These Updates Matter - These revisions are designed to:
Protect the safety of all users
Preserve the integrity of the facility
Ensure long-term access for responsible members
Strengthen legal protections for the range and community

Yes, the Lions Club still actively collects eyeglasses through their "Lions Recycle for Sight" program. They accept used prescription glasses, reading glasses, sunglasses, and cases. Donations can be dropped off at the Dimmit County Chamber of Commerce office or to any Lion member.

Give the gift of sight to someone else if you have old glasses that you can't or don't use anymore laying around.

Shooting Range: Please be aware, all memberships, existing and new must follow this process for access.

If you are interested in a membership or have had one previously that has not yet expired please follow these steps to become or remain active and have access to the range.

Membership is $80 for individual and $120 for family annually.

1- Execute the range rules agreement.
2- Update your contact information.
3- Aquire and sign for a new key and membership card.

For this Primary Election on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, all polling places will have both Republican and Democrat ballots. This is a change to the previous years when Republican voters in the county had to come to one location in Carrizo Springs. Voters please check your voter registration cards to confirm your correct Presinct Number
