Dear Friends and Family,

The MFFO team hopes you are ending 2024 feeling peace, happiness and you enjoyed your holiday season. We are all looking forward to 2025 and all that it has in store for us at MFFO!

MFFO has a lot to celebrate this year! We had 5 girls graduate from high school this December. The Kenyan school year starts in January and ends in December. The next step for the girls is to take what they call “national exams” to see where they will stand for college or university placement.

We are thrilled that we had 5 girls graduate from university and college. We are excited they have completed their educations and are moving to the next phase of their lives. This is the entire point of the gift of education. To educate our young girls to become independent strong women!

Currently we have 15 girls in colleges and universities in Kenya and 12 girls in junior high and high school. MFFO must continue to raise funds for these girls to complete their educations. The education system in Kenya is not the same as here in the US. The girls attend boarding schools, which comes from Kenya’s history with England. These schools give the girls the best chance to graduate and potentially go on to college. This is why we strive to raise monies for continued school fees for the girls.

We had a great time at Romano's Pizzeria and Restaurant in Philadelphia last Thursday!! Peter Romano entered the Herr's Flavored by Philly Chip contest in Philadelphia with his Stromboli recipe and won the grand prize of $10,000. Peter generously donated the $10,000 to Mothers Fighting for Others. We will use 100% of the funds to educate our girls in Kenya.
We enjoyed meeting Peter, his assistant Debbie Rogers and his father, Peter Sr. Mom ( Gisela John) , Jackie Humenik and I shared photos, books and stories about our experience traveling to Kenya to work with the girls and MFFO. We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant and all became fast friends. Interestingly, Peter's grandfather invented the Stromboli in the 1950s. Peter shared the Stromboli history with us as we had lunch. It was such a wonderful day with new friends. My heart is full.
