🚬 🚬 I will post another post tomorrow to show appreciations to our team with other photos but today I feel compelled to post this photo. 🚬 These TWO BAGS of butts were picked up in ONE HOUR today around CB. 🚬In the last four years this team has LITERALLY picked up over 360,000 butts from the parking lots, beside businesses, sidewalks and bushes in Carolina Beach and we recycle them, but obviously this is not enough. 🚬 🚬 I know there are people before us who tried to make changes in our town so this would stop- but it’s time to try again. 🚬 Stay tuned.

96 pounds of trash and this big bag o butts in one hour of trash pick up today!

This year in 12 hours we picked up 1,563 pounds of trash in CB.

We are in our 4th season of weighing and our total in trash we picked up is 24,359 pounds!!!! That is over 12 TONS!!

Thank you to this team and thank you to the businesses that are working with us to keep this town clean. IT SHOWS!!!!

85 pounds of trash picked up around the island on May 20! We comb the sidewalks, parks, parking lots and next to businesses and sometimes the beach and dunes (with permission).

Wow!🤯

Huge milestone for the KNHB CLPR campaign 🚬♻️

Since April 2017, we’ve recycled 3,479,780 cigarette butts (3,479 lbs) through 471 shipments and we’re just 520 lbs away from reaching 2 tons recycled!

With support from the Keep America Beautiful Cigarette Litter Prevention Program Grant (awarded to us 4 times), we’ve already recycled over ONE TON of cigarette filters.

This impact is possible thanks to our dedicated volunteers who maintain 400+ collection canisters at 64 community partner sites across New Hanover County.

And here’s the kicker: TerraCycle ranks us #10 in the nation for cigarette butt recycling!

150 pounds of trash picked up on 5/13 in an hour. In 8 weeks we have picked up a total of 1,303 pounds of trash!

Our group keeps growing!!!!!
