There’s always more to know & ways to grow. When we know better, we do better! 💙

Our team & partners have soaked in so much knowledge regarding Human Trafficking (both s*x & labor) these two days. Thanks SVSU Social Work & Youth Services and Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force!

Mid-Michigan is stepping it up. đź’™

These incredible faces represent organizations from across the Mid-Michigan region, all coming together at the 2-day Human Trafficking Conference presented by the Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force at Saginaw Valley State University to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the way we respond to trafficking in our communities.
When healthcare, advocacy, law enforcement, education, and community partners work together, our communities become safer for everyone.

Thank you to everyone committed to showing up, learning more, and doing the work. 👏

Sexual violence impacts every community—including LGBTQ+ individuals, who often face higher rates of harm and additional barriers to support.
Discrimination, stigma, and fear of not being believed can make it even harder to seek help. That’s why affirming, inclusive, and trauma-informed support matters.
Every survivor deserves to be seen, respected, and believed—exactly as they are.
You are not alone. You deserve safety. You deserve support. đź’ś

Supporting survivors starts with listening—not fixing.
Collaboration means centering their voice, respecting their choices, and recognizing that they are the expert in their own experience. Whether you’re a friend, professional, or community member, your role is to create space that is safe, empowering, and free of judgment.
Believe them.
Offer options, not pressure.
Respect their pace.
Stand with them—not over them.
Healing is not something we do to survivors—it’s something we walk through with them. 💜

Healing from gaslighting takes time—but you can rebuild trust in yourself.
If you’ve experienced domestic or s*xual violence, you may have been made to question your reality. Ungaslighting yourself starts with honoring your feelings, validating your experiences, and reconnecting with your inner voice.
You are allowed to trust what you remember.
You are allowed to feel what you feel.
You are allowed to take up space in your own story.
Support is here when you’re ready. 💜

Grooming is a manipulative process used to gain trust and slowly cross boundaries, often making it difficult to recognize in the moment. It can happen in person or online and is never the fault of the person being targeted.
Awareness helps us recognize the signs and support those affected. TAACC is committed to education and prevention this Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Stories can shape how we see the world—and ourselves. The stories we consume can challenge stigma, build understanding, and inspire healing. This collection of books, TV shows, and movies centers consent, resilience, and survivor empowerment.
Representation matters, and so does choosing media that uplifts, empowers, and sparks meaningful conversation. These books, shows, and films highlight strength, survival, and the importance of consent and respect. TAACC is proud to uplift stories that empower this Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Everything you want may be just outside your comfort zone—but you don’t have to rush to get there. 💙
