Do you want to help protect your local waterways? We are currently building a team for Adopt-a-Stream (AAS) certification. AAS is a program run by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division to train volunteers to collect and enter data into the state AAS database. Certifications of chemical, bacterial and macroinvertebrate monitoring are free and will be held locally. After training, our volunteers will be able to monitor effluent entering our streams from existing and future facilities. Throughout our mission we will be highlighting businesses that will suffer and possibly have to close their doors should there be an event of pollution in the waterway. Today we would like to feature Broad River Outpost, located on the Broad River in Danielsville. Their operations provide great recreational activities such as kayaking, canoeing and camping on Broad River. Any pollution entering Broad River will be devastating for them.
