Calling All CDMRC Members! The Tolt Dam Exercise is coming UP! September 13th. Here's the details.

We are simulating what Citizen Corps will do if the Tolt dam fails catastrophically. Things get under way at 8AM in the Riverview Educational Services Center (ESC) in Duvall (around the corner from FD45). We especially need Field Treatment Centers opened at the shelter on Evacuation Hill, one at Lake Joy fire station and another in the Stillwater Elementary School parking lot. Carnation and Camp Gilead supplies should not be counted on as they will be underwater and inaccessible, respectively.

I'm looking for teams to open and staff the Field Treatment Centers at Evacuation Hill, Lake Joy fire station and Stillwater Elementary. Can you help?

Who can make it! Contact Gene, Kathy or myself as soon as you can! We need you!

OSO HELP WANTED

Have you a current background check? Then, the communities of Arlington, Oso and Darrington need your help! Volunteers will be tasked with helping sort out the memorabilia and keepsakes that have come from the debris field.

If you have not had your background checked or your background was checked in 2010 or before, upon your request a check will be performed at no cost to you. Along with your request to perform a background check, please send in your full name and date of birth.

Volunteer help is needed, and a lot of it in the next few weeks. Please respond to [email protected] for scheduling. The location is confidential for now and will only be shared with those who are in the schedule. It’s mission critical that no one shares this location. Needed are at least 4 to 6 people to help per shift each day. The warehouse hours are 10am to 8pm, seven days a week, and volunteers are needed to work 5-6 hours per shift.

You may have to provide your own N-95-rated masks. Such are available for purchase from Lowe’s or Home Depot or perhaps a local hardware store.

Please: Only background-checked volunteers may work at this sensitive site.

Wow! You might have missed it but we had an awesome Drill Sept 28, 2013 at Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation, Washington. We simulated a full response to a large earthquake including CERT level search and rescue, Disaster Communications, Medical Triage and Care, and the mighty paperwork! (Plus a whole lot more!) A heartfelt thanks to all of our volunteers, public agencies and cities that helped it be a great success. We learned a lot, and got some great times in during a horrible weather day. Thanks to everyone!
